Job Description - Research Analyst (1-6 yrs)

Vertical : Time Inc. India Research & Analytics Centre of Excellence

Business Unit : Business Insights + Analytics

Process : Time Inc. UK Ad Business Insight

Title : Analyst

Position Statement :

To leverage Time Inc.'s internal and external research sources and deliver relevant, deep and easy to use actionable insights to the advertising sales teams - in order to drive ad revenues

Key Responsibilities :

Primary Research :

Build a knowledge of Time Inc. UK's internal research sources - an online women's research panel, an ad effectiveness research platform and other bespoke research

Online Research Panel :

- Manage discussion questions, including scripting, moderating and analysis

- Implementation of surveys, including writing of questionnaires, scripting, fieldwork management, analysis

- Involvement in general panel management, e.g. recruitment quotas, panel health, engagement, quality control

- Ensure strategic use of the panel by insight members and stakeholders

Ad-Effectiveness Campaigns :

- Set-up of standard ad effectiveness research projects including liaising with sales contact/client and with research agency, confirming research objectives, competitive sets etc.

- Ensure accurate and timely turnaround of campaign effect studies & quality control

- Utilise benchmark data to provide collateral for ad sales

- Develop case studies to demonstrate the advertising effectiveness of Time Inc. brands and advertising partnerships

- Bespoke research initiatives - involvement in new insight projects to support commercial sales teams and drive advertising revenues

Category Insights :

- Track and create documents on the current and future trends affecting the advertising industry landscape in the U.K. market.

- This includes an in-depth analysis of business-critical industries and important advertisers - including market sizing, advertising spend analysis, development and maintenance of category trends on an ongoing basis; as well as creating company profiles and overviews

Ad Sales Insights :

Provide insight for sales pitches and ad-hoc requests from agencies/clients,utilising both secondary/industry data and Time Inc. bespoke research

Data Management :

- Maintenance of dashboard containing industry data - for use by the sales teams and updating of regular reports and analysis on industry data, to inform the business internally

Skills & Experience :

Must Have (Technical) :

- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

- Basic/Intermediate knowledge of any Statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, R, Stata, etc.)

Must Have (Non-Technical) :

- Insightful, strategic & analytical thinker

- Enthusiastic and passionate, ideally with an interest in media and consumer research

- Highly developed organisational skills, with an attention to detail

- Communication & comprehension skills

- Presentation building skills

- Relationship building skills

- Good knowledge of marketing, research and the media business

- Proactive nature - showing initiative and demonstrating a - can do- approach

- Ability to generate new ideas; believer in constant innovation

Good To Have (Technical/Non-Technical) :

- Experience with any online survey tool (like Qualtrics, QuestionPro, SurveyMonkey, etc.)

- Knowledge of data tools and systems such as NRS (including PADD), ABC, TGI, AdDynamix, Telmar, comScore, Google Analytics

- Data Visualization Skills (Infographics Development, Tableau, etc.)

- Understanding of publishing, advertising, media and digital functions, knowledge of ad sales, media research across multiple platforms

Background :

- MBA/PGDM (1-4 Years- Experience)

- Prior experience in conducting primary and secondary research on any major industries (preferably women centric) within the international market. Hands-on experience working on end-to-end research projects with a knack of building insightful and visually appealing presentations

Good to have :

Market Research/Media/Marketing background (via MBA/PGDM or experience or both), experience working with English-speaking clientele in a clear and professional manner, good understanding of U.K market/experience, exposure to U.K. pop culture and advertising trends for major brands/advertisers, studied in U.K.
