Role Purpose :

- Plans, organizes, leads, and manages the staff and operations of information technology infrastructure including network, data communications, telecommunications, and other related technological services.

Job Description :

Financial :

- Reviews and conducts feasibility studies, evaluates, and plans for various infrastructure upgrade projects, oversees conversions, migrations, implementation strategies.

- Monitors section budget; approves, reviews, and analyzes expenditures, determines budgeting needs and requirements for cost savings; analyzes alternative means of providing services in the most feasible and economical manner; negotiates contracts; makes recommendations on capital expenditures, and related matters; prepares various reports and participates in special projects; develops and administers policies and procedures.

Customer :

- Participates in developing and implementing overall IT objectives, strategies, and plans with other IT managers and staff.

Operational :

- Manages and sets priorities for the proper maintenance, design, development, and evaluation of infrastructure systems such as LAN, WAN, Internet, Intranet, data communication systems, and other related security systems.

- Oversees the maintenance of new and existing equipment, determines hardware and software needs, and maintains appropriate inventory of equipment.

- Stays current with new technologies, trends and related practices in the industry, and determines when and if new technology is appropriate

- Prepares RFP and evaluates bid proposals and specifications for infrastructure projects; prepares contracts, project plans, scope of work, status and summary reports and correspondence.

- Negotiates and procures development and maintenance agreements related to functional services.

- Provides technical advice and assistance to managers and staff to ensure efficient data communication, telecommunication, database services, and other computer systems

- Develops operational standards, policies, and procedures for the IT Infrastructure group including project management, network and database analysis services

- Plans, organizes, and evaluates the effectiveness of services to customers; reviews management reports; prepares long-term and short-term strategic plans, goals, and objectives; coordinates activities of section with other sections, divisions, departments, and others in order to develop effective and efficient systems and reduce delays; attends or facilitates meetings, makes presentations, and communicates in an effective manner to resolve issues.

- Oversees network, software, hardware and related support services to end users; participates in the evaluation and problem resolution of complex technological problems; makes recommendations for improvements, development, project management, and implementation of efficient and effective system solutions; directs and oversees needs assessments, feasibility studies, system analyses to meet the changing needs of users and to maximize efficiencies; develops and implements appropriate plans and programs; stays abreast of current trends, evaluates their impact, and recommends policy and procedural modifications as appropriate.

People Management :

- Supervises trains, assigns work, monitors and evaluates assigned staff and consultants.

- Manages, supervises, plans, and organizes the staff responsible for providing various support services to end users such as applications, network, desktop, software, and hardware; participates in staff selection; plans and directs training; assigns, reviews, and evaluates work performance; reviews workload and reports; develops work standards; oversees performance and disciplinary issues; interprets and administers personnel policies and procedures.

Educational Qualification : B.E in Computer Science or MCA
