Reliance Capital - Policy Drafting & Research Role - Corporate Affairs

Purpose of the Role:

The incumbent of this role will provide drafting support to Head - Corporate Affairs on government relations.

Experience & Qualification:

- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in medium-to-large corporation, including at least 2-3 years of experience in public policy, regulatory, government business or government relations focus.

- Deep understanding of government, legislative and public policy matters required. Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory processes, regulatory requirements of the country.

- Undergraduate/Postgraduate in Engineering, Public Policy, Communications, Finance, Political Science or Sociology/MBA or degree in Public Administration.

- Ability to work independently.

- Support in PR exercises.

- Networking and be able to cull out relevant information from maze of data /conversations.

- Monitoring the changes of the policies/laws & regulations, identify potential important stakeholders. Monitors legislative, judicial, and policy reforms, amendments proactively and offer support to takes adequate measures to mitigate any risks or negative impact to the Company businesses.

- Studying and gaining knowledge and research material on domestic and international laws, trends and news on the financial Services Industry, business intelligence on all competition.

- Strategy, Planning and Research. Influencing Public Policy and Regulatory Framework.

- Conduct detailed analyses, prepares reports and develops specific recommendations regarding issues arising from regulations and laws. He/she will need to support to Head - Corporate Affairs to develop strategies and makes recommendations for influencing and promoting Company's interests on decisions impacted by the government's short and long-term goals.

- Commission and oversee internal and external research projects as needed to support company's policy initiatives;

- Assists Head of Corporate Affairs in developing messages and strategies in support of Company's regulatory & government relations activities through well researched materials /documents used in support of those activities.

- Develops Policy related documentation, white papers, reports, representations, Executive summaries, etc- to carry and communicate the Company's initiatives, key messages, and activities etc. Develops notes for communication with Regulators, Government agencies, Industry audiences using written documentation, representations, and assist in generating newspaper articles to influence the regulators & government.

- Offer support in developing and implementing Regulatory & Government Relations strategies and Projects in support of Company's mission and strategic initiatives.

- Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, and policy papers.

- Regulatory/legislative official engagement.

- Internal IT portal project for external stakeholder's management.

- Periodic newsletter.

Desired Qualities & Skills:

- Excellent written and oral communications skills with proven ability to research, analyse and articulate complex legal or regulatory policy issues and solutions through white papers, representations, memos, executive summaries, Industry reports etc..

- Self-motivated, driven, organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and excel in a regulatory environment and get any kind of work done in challenging circumstances

- Must possess strong written communication skills in English for reports and creating documentation - highly required in the job.
