The key deliverables of this role will be
Partner with the Sales and customer development function in the region and be an effective member of the Regional Leadership Team led by the General Manager of the Region. The Regional Management is responsible for a sales turnover exceeding Rs.5000 crores for well known and prestigious consumer brands/goods distributed in the Western States of India.
Partner with the Supply Chain function in the Western region which has multiple factories
Be a part of the functional leadership team of Legal Department and seamlessly interact with peers and the senior legal managers based out of Mumbai as well as in the North, East & South regional offices.
Lead, mentor and manage a small team of 2 legal executives and an experienced para-legal for driving achievement of targeted results in (a) Litigation reduction / Dispute Management (b) engage with external senior counsel effectively and participate in briefing them for appearance in courts and (c) proactively engage in making suitable/necessary representations on various legal issues with the government / statutory authorities
Key Skills:
Familiarity with the following legislations/processes -
Food Safety Standard Laws
Drugs and Cosmetics Act and relevant regulatory environment
Product labelling regulations for food and other consumer products
Product promotion claims and issues connected therewith
Law of Contracts, Evidence Act, Cr.P.C and C.P.C
Labour welfare, social security, factory administration, and employment regulation laws
Legal Metrology Act and packaged commodity rules
Consumer protection laws
Basic understanding of legislation on Sales Tax/VAT/GST & other indirect tax laws
Qualification and experience : LLB or LLM from a reputed university and upto 5 years of relevant post qualification experience
Industry: Food and drugs, Beverages, Confectionery, fast moving consumer goods
Please note we need more profiles for this role. The person should have experience of handling a team. Pls specify clearly the number of people who directly report to the person in the resume as well. In addition to this he will need the below competencies. Companies targeted should be FMCG, Consumer goods & Pharma or similar sized companies. We are looking for similar sized and well known brands.
Experience of handling the cases at various forums and have the knowledge of laws related to the following:
