Regional Head, Business Analysis and Reporting

Key Responsibilities : The key responsibilities of this role are to :

Lead the Asia Reporting to the Group :

- Receive, review and understand Group financial reporting instructions

- Communicate clearly defined, tailored and timely financial reporting instructions / timetables to Local Entities, ensuring they are consistent with Group standards, documented, widely understood and enforced

- Produce and ensure timely delivery of reporting to Group under agreed IFRS requirements. Work closely with Local Entities to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Group instructions

- Obtain clearance of results with key stakeholders in a timely and satisfactory manner, with full resolution of queries

- Continuously review and improve the financial reporting processes across the region

- Provide ad-hoc technical accounting support for transactions across the business (including derivative/hedging transactions, acquisitions and divestment's)

- Ensure only useful financial reporting activities are undertaken in a cost effective manner

Lead the Asia Reporting to the Regional management :

- Deliver the performance reporting process including dashboard, group QBR, and other regional management reports incorporating key KPIs and supporting business focused commentaries

- Provide support if required to the strategy team to deliver the process of strategic planning, forecasting and STI reporting processes

- Drive significant improvement in the capability of Local Entities around management and performance reporting

- Regularly engage key customers (EX-COM, Group) to seek feedback on performance management reports to ensure expectations are met

- Propose / discuss changes to existing reports / KPIs to improve benefits generated from reporting activities

- Regularly review performance and management reporting processes to identify opportunities for improvement in terms of effectiveness and efficiency

- Ensure regional report whenever possible are centralized and entities have minimal dual reporting to Regional Office / Group

Manage the Reporting and Governance :

- Prepare papers for the regional audit and risk management committee

- Improve financial processes and control across the region

- Manage CFOs sign-off on accounts

- Provide accounting and reporting methodology advice to entities

- Support the IFRS annual audit planning, audit issues, financial statements and audit fee schedules

- Ensure the Magnitude and Nautilus inputs are accurate and timely

Work with the regional finance transformation team :

- Help to select and define KPIs

- Understand differences in reporting between numbers from the policy administration system and the ones provided directly from entities, propose resolution and way-forward

- Streamline the reporting processes in Local Entities and the Regional Office

- In coordination with the Group PBRC team, determine training needs and drive training delivery to significantly uplift Local Entity capabilities around management and performance reporting disciplines, including performance driver concepts, reporting process and key performance indicators used across the Group

- Provide leadership, develop and drive the Group Reporting team towards becoming a business partner to Local Entities and make Regional Finance a great place to work

- Develop staff finance skills and knowledge with on-going training

- Contribute to promoting a positive, high performance working environment where Regional Finance work cohesively across and within teams

- Communicate clear role descriptions and accountability statements to facilitate staff objectives setting and drive the right behaviours

- Develop knowledge base on reporting disciplines, Local Entity businesses, and promote knowledge sharing across teams

Experience/Qualification :

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Actuarial discipline

- CA, CPA or qualified Actuary

- Minimum of 15 years insurance industry

Knowledge :

- Excellent knowledge of performance drivers and measurement within life insurance business

- Strong understanding of management accounting and reporting regimes and concepts

- Excellent knowledge of IFRS

- Good understanding of KPIs and value measures used by the Group

Skills :

- Excellent communication skills with good command of spoken and written English

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. Good at leading change.

- Good team player with excellent project management skills and good experience in monitoring, analysis and reporting performance

- Self-motivated and strong analytical mind, well-organized and attention to details

- Strong at effectively handle multiple priorities under time and delivery pressures in a changing business environment

- Good business sense

- Excellent English verbal and written communications and presentation skills

- Demonstrated experiences in engaging and working with senior management

- Proficiency in MS Powerpoint, Word and Excel

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
