Job Title: Regional Financial Controller - India

Reporting in - who does this position report to: RVP India, Functional reporting to Group Financial Controller

Objective of the role:

- Head & provide composite Finance leadership for company involving Finance, Accounting, Tax, Internal Audit, Cash and Credit Management.

- Support and assist Regional Vice President Europe in ensuring that Europe delivers on business performance - Factories, HO, Regional and Branch offices.

- Support VP in Group governance requirements and ensure finance norms and its compliance, statutory compliance from the UK and European laws perspective.

- Act as sound business advisor, alert and advice ILT members on financial matters and conformance

- Support local finance function in developing high quality finance resource within Group.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Verify that various Business Plans prepared (Strategic Plan, Budget, and other business plans) delivers the strategy, are financially robust, and can be approved by the VP for consideration at Group level. Thereafter, to support and assist the VP to deliver the business model as per the business plan.

Responsible to carry out financial reviews to ensure that management accounts, statutory accounts, budgets and forecasts are prepared in accordance with the Group policies and any statutory policy/procedures.

Ensures company meets the required Group finance reporting requirements and deadlines.

Verify that all forecasts submitted by entity Europe are robust, realistic and in-line with the business environment.

Monitor finance performance and identify areas for improvement and develop action plans with operating company staff for approval by the RVP, and then monitor delivery of such plans.

Support the business, in terms of Finance lead, in areas of Finance and Cost management, optimisation, efficiency measures, pricing policy, etc.

Assists in the coordination and concluding of the license, royalty and such other agreements and monitors the rights and obligations thereof in such agreements.

Monitor delivery of non-financial elements of performance contracts. Develop intervention plans to correct underperformance.

Ensure the Tax strategy is delivered as required by the Group and that entity is in full compliance with local tax requirements.

Lead the finance function. This involves maximising cash returns remitted to Group HO, optimising / improving the company's working capital management

Monitor and develop the performance of finance staff, and ensure succession plans are in place for key finance staff.

Monitor and immediately inform the RVP/CFO/Group Finance Controller of any breaches of governance that could lead to fraud, mis-representation of accounts, theft, etc.

Conduct cross region audits, and effectively manage the Internal Audit department

Lead the Debtors recovery programme and develop close interactions with Sales and Customers in ensuring our Customers pay as per Trade agreements.

Develop and secure control/process of various functions and audit through Internal audit for enforced compliance.

Support the RVP in commercial negotiation/agreements as is appropriate including with Vendors/suppliers/customers/Lawyers etc.

Establish Financial Prudence in any investment / operating considerations through FMs, training and coaching programmes, and champion KEY USER roles within DAX from a finance perspective.

Lead and comply statutory/group norms, Secretarial practises, and liaison with Government agencies as appropriate and complete all assessments/filing of documents/recovery of statutory forms as appropriate.

Knowledge/ Experience/ Skills/ Personal attributes:

10-15 years post qualification experience in multinational and/or multi location industrial groups with exposure to manufacturing organisations and IFRS reporting

Exposure to chemical / batch processing units and construction markets

Strong management accounting skills and should have worked at senior level managing financial and management accounts

Commercial knowledge on cross border transactions

Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken and good communication skills

Exposure to either the current consolidation system (Hyperion) or the new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX)

Strong awareness on IT for business, exposure to ERP systems and standard costing systems

Experience of deploying an ERP system in a multinational company

Excellent skills on MS office applications

Exposure to business intelligence tools (Cognos, Brio, Business objects and the like)

HSE awareness and commitment towards HSE policies

Education Qualification:

Professional qualification in accountancy - CA, ICWA, CPA, ACCA

Industry preference : Chemical
