Client has immediate opening for following position: &nbsp;Position: Regional Counsel, India/South Asia region &nbsp;Location: Manesar (Near Gurgaon) Qualification: LL.B. (from any recognized university in India) + Qualified Company Secretary (having ICSI membership) is Preferred Roles and Responsibilities: Will lead a team to: - Manage litigation and crisis situations - Advise business leaders, finance, HR and other regional leaders on commercial, HR, compliance and other legal matters - Ensure compliance in business conduct and country governance policies; establish training programs that advance awareness and compliance with these policies. - Provide support to colleagues on international investigations and related matters. - Manage and leverage external counsel relationships to expand scope of impact. - Develop team members to excel via professional and business focused development opportunities - Position is located in Manesar, India and reports to the Managing Counsel, Asia Pacific. May require 25%+ travel time to countries defined above and others as needed Desired Skills and Experience - At least 12 years post-legal certification work in a law firm or a multi-national company legal team. Prior in-house experience at a large, public. U.S.-based multinational is ideal. Some prior experience in private practice is likewise ideal. - Must demonstrate understanding of major anti-bribery laws (including the FCPA and UK Bribery Act) and working in an environment where high business integrity is expected - Must demonstrate ability to engage with senior business leaders as peers. Business-minded but able to stand up to strong, local business leaders when needed; strong at building and developing relationships; confidence, experience and ability to work independently and with varied management styles - Emphasis on individuals experienced in crisis management. - Ability to engage with government authorities - Strong experience dealing with labour and HR disputes - Experience providing general corporate advice, compliance, sales, tenders, facilities and other general matters covering the breadth of activities in the region. - Demonstrate understanding of the legal and business environment in the India/South Asia region - English language fluency required. - Excellent interpersonal skills; highly attuned and experienced at working with different cultures and sensitivities.
