About Role: This is about a Category Manager role for a new and extremely critical initiative launched recently by redBus. Like any e-commerce platform, we have a demand-side (represented by customers) and supply-side (represented by the bus operators), and to be successful we need to keep both healthy. The customer side is taken care of by the product (app, website, etc) and the communication (marketing, branding, etc). This role is about taking care of the supply side of things by launching various ground-level initiatives for the bus operators pan-India. You can expect this to be a combination of strategy (particularly defining growth hacks for productivity and efficiency improvements for bus operators), heavy operations, defining the SOPs, defining the KPIs, regular training of BOs and Supply team, regularly tracking the KPIs through data analysis, reporting performance to the management, etc. Key Responsibilities: 1) Own the end to end execution of the "Supplier Improvement Program" charter, which will encompass multiple bus operator and field facing initiatives 2) Roll out supplier focused programs pan-India in alignment with the relevant stakeholders. Ensure smooth & timely execution by working closely with the Supply team and external vendors 3) Define the SOPs, TATs, Audit methodologies, etc, based on the best practices as well as in alignment with the Supply team. 4) Proactively identify and address the execution challenges/bottlenecks to reduce the execution risks 5) Proactively communicate to keep all the stakeholders aligned and informed about the progress of the various initiatives 6) Create and cultivate a pipeline of vendors and be the SPOC interface with them. Conceptualize new initiatives and contribute to the overall supplier improvement strategy 7) Analyze and present the data to help in understanding the true picture of the initiatives and aid data-driven decisions 9) Travel (~ 10%) Educational Qualification: MBA from premier B school. Exp Minimum and Maximum: 5-8 years Key skills required for the role: 1) Prior experience of launching multiple pan-India initiatives in an operational role, working with ground teams, vendors, and other HQ based stakeholders 2) Highly execution-focused, resourceful, self-motivated, and result-oriented individual 3) Comfortable with uncertainty and ability to give method to the madness through a highly structured problem-solving approach 4) Background in industries such as Ground transportation (ideal), Hospitality, FMCG, Retail, E-Commerce (Supply-side), etc. 5) Entrepreneurial/early start-up experience is a definite plus 6) Hand-on field experience of defining franchisee development programs, process blueprints, quality audits, etc Good to Have: Category management, Operations management, Stakeholder management
