ROLE: Assistant Manager Procurement - Raw Material - Health and Wellness LOCATION: Gurgaon No of Direct Reports: Nil No of Indirect Reports: Nil SUMMARY The AM Procurement RM is responsible for procurement of RM & Finished Goods on a timely basis and as per planned requirements to ensure the service to the demand given. The person needs to have knowledge and understanding on the supply chain management/Cost workings. RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Buying: - Responsible for planning, coordination and vendor management for globally purchased items. - Responsible for planning, contract negotiation and monitoring of share of business for local and regionally managed raw materials. - Track & benchmark relevant markets and gather information on supply and demand of chemicals & underlying commodities and leverage the same in buying decisions. - Responsible for identifying and driving procurement projects on cost reduction, lead time reductions, process improvement and quality compliance. - Responsible for identifying and driving procurement projects on cost reduction, lead time reductions, process improvement and quality compliance. - Responsible for Negotiation of FG costs with health and wellness Copack - Responsible for Negotiation new SER/CER requirements at Copack inline with demand projections from business Vendor Management: - Ensure close monitoring of vendor performance to encourage a continuous improvement culture. - Take the lead in identifying new, more reliable and / or lower cost resources of supply. - Assist product development teams to identify product innovation possibilities and ensuring timely delivery of new product for FG and Raw materials Ensuring Service: - Responsible for coordinating with vendors and factory team to facilitate timely deliveries of Raw Materials to factory. - Responsible for resolution of all issues related to raw material quality, specifications, revalidations, damages/losses and commercial issues related to raw materials vendors. - Assist factories in efficient management of inventories and drive lead time reduction projects like JIT, consignment stocks. - Assist finance team in working capital management by negotiating payment terms with vendors - Ensure compliance to forecasted production at co-pack units. - Insure the timely Purchase orders issuance to copacks and periodic review of open orders. - Ensure that finished goods, RM and PM inventory is maintained with co-pack units and set inventory holding norms for each unit by analyzing the time-demand fluctuations. - Meet timelines for all new products launches and promotions at co pack locations. - Ensure clear visibility on supplier liabilities (Write off's etc) are communicated clearly in the supply and commercial function and timely decisions are made. - Ensure the incidence of quality problems are minimized at the units - Manage contracts of Co-pack units and raising Price approvals as and when required. - Manage New product introduction through copacks. - Addressing day to day issues related with Plan/Quality and payments and present to key stakeholders for solution. - Define SLA (Service level agreement) with each of the copack for service level compliance. - Timely implementation of cost saving projects at copacks. - Execute and support on SQC guidelines implementations at copacks. Systems & Process - Comply with laid down systems and processes of RB and Procurement function and set-up new systems & fine tune existing one to meet requirements of the business. - Function as a team player to implement end-to-end solutions across the supply chain of copack, including interactions with the demand planning, manufacturing, logistics, R&D and vendors & other external agencies. - Generation of appropriate MIS (Monthly pricing/Monthly PPV) and analytics on a regular basis to support performance management systems. - Responsible for identifying and driving projects on lead time reductions, process improvement and quality compliance. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE - Qualification: MBA (Supply Management), Engineering Degree/ Other equivalent Graduation or Post Graduation Degree - 5 years of experience in Procurement function in a FMCG organization - Project management expertise and experience in fields like supplier processes.
