Consumer Marketing Insights Manager SUMMARY : - The CMI manager is responsible for implementation of regional market research projects for chosen categories and providing support to the regional and local marketing teams in interpreting market research results and contributing to action plans following research. SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE : - The role holder is a key member of the Marketing team and interacts closely with the Category Manager and the Sales function. S/he is the interface with the external Research Agencies. There is an interaction with Finance, HR, Operations, R&D and SSG functions. RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES : - Research projects: - Responsible for the implementation of all market research projects for chosen categories in the region Syndicated data : - Responsible for Nielsen retail audit service in the region, ensuring effective integration and use by local and regional business teams of value added services Brand Equity / Activation Tracking (BAT) : - Work with the Global Best Practices team (HQ) to implement the BAT program and share learnings with the countries/region Research budget management : - Plan and manage the regional market research budget in conjunction with local and regional marketing management/ Market Research lead Consumer insights and knowledge champion : 1. Have a deep understanding of consumers in the countries of region across categories, and be the consumer knowledge and insights champion in the region 2. Provide high quality support to local and regional business teams to interpret market research results, contributing to practical action plans following research 3. Strong focus and involvement in managing the business and NPD pipeline, reviewing business objectives with regional and local marketing management, in order to develop, manage and execute research plans to best meet them Methodologies : - Apply global standard and consistent methodologies (BASES, Milllward Brown LINK test), and recommend appropriate methodologies to meet local research needs Supplier management : - Develop strong relationships with global and regional external research suppliers to ensure superior service and quality Training : - Provide market research coaching and training for the region Market research team : - Develop and build strong relationships within the Area market research organization, and with market research directors and managers from the Category, Best Practices and Syndicated divisions within the Reckitt Benckiser Global MR team KEY CHALLENGES : - Managing a complex portfolio of categories, brands and countries - Functioning within a matrix organization (Local countries and Global category/marketing) - Proactively influencing and challenging the marketing and regional team in a strategic and high impact way - Aligning internal customers (Marketing team) with external agencies (Research organizations)objectives - Provide commercial context to research while interpreting the research results - Attentive to and maintain constant alignment with global research PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE : Qualification : MBA - 8+ years- experience, with preferably both client and research agency experience - Experience in analytical data / big data preferred PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES : - Results orientated, independent, entrepreneurial and self-motivating - Well developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build positive challenging working relationships - Commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues - Strong understanding of marketing strategy, planning issues, budgeting and priority setting - Strong project management skills - Ability to understand business strategies, tactics and implement measurable research plans - Excellent communication and presentation skills
