Consulting Role - Life Science R&D Domain - IT Consulting Firm

- This role is for a R&D Analyst in the Life Sciences industry team within the Products Operating Group

- The Life Sciences industry group works with the following industries:

- Pharmaceuticals

- Biotechnology

- Medical products and devices

- Other companies across the life-sciences value chain, provides services such as large-scale business and technology transformation, targeted business performance improvement and post-merger integration for R&D functions (includes Pharmacovigilance, Clinical, Regulatory, Pre-clinical and research, QC and research laboratories). We also work with Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions, but experience with R&D functions is a must for this profile.

- The Life Sciences Analyst will be responsible for helping in driving our Life Sciences clients - strategy and business planning efforts. Responsibilities may include:

Project Delivery : Work on small to medium-size teams to deliver projects for global clients. Responsibilities may include strategy and process design for R&D functions (includes Pharmacovigilance, Clinical, Regulatory, Pre-clinical and research, Lab Informatics)

Business Development : Support efforts of global sales team to identify and win potential opportunities within the practice.

Industry Experience : Provide industry expertise in various sub-segments of the LS industry

Domain Development : Development of assets and methodologies, development of point-of-view, research or white papers, internal tools or materials for use by larger community. Acquiring skills that have utility across industry groups.

Qualification : MBA or Masters in Pharma

Experience : Management Consulting and General Business Consulting Experience is a must

- Possesses good functional and domain knowledge and provides specialized inputs. Has relevant experience in the same area and / or has an educational background within the domain

- Can solve a structured and defined problem in a functional area. Can break the problem into smaller modules and go into details and define each module

- Supports a project in implementing and operationalizing a business or operating model within the offering or area of work

- Provides Point of view, solution, data or input for an area or module in deck making, proposal or project where problem and scope of work is defined. Big picture and storyline of the larger engagement is shared

- Has familiarity or expertise with assets / tools in business consulting, R&D. Eg. Issue Trees, Diagnosis tools like client questionnaire and analysis, Operating Model, Business Process mapping, etc.

- Given the functional depth, successfully delivers projects within the same SL / Offering group

Client and Project Management :

- Project manages a module / part of a project within a specific area or domain

- Works on client site with minimal supervision in his / her area

- Interacts with client and provides specialized inputs at a functional level

Industry/ functional Skills :

- Industry Expertise : Preferably worked internationally in the pharmaceutical /medical devices / biotechnology industry or worked in an international context with clients from the above industry segments

- Working knowledge of pharmacovigilance databases such as ArisG/ ARGUS databases, Clinical Databases, Regulatory Submissions, etc.

- Working knowledge of clinical data management platforms (Medidata/ RAVE, Veeva Clinical), Lab Informatics platforms

- Domain Development : Develop assets and methodologies, develop of points-of-view, research or white papers, support development of marketing collateral, conduct public speaking and publish in industry periodicals

Capability Skills : 

- Should have worked with at least 2 of the following R&D functions in a strategy or consulting set up:

- Pharmacovigilance

- Regulatory affairs/Medical Affairs

- R&D Post Merger Integration

- R&D Compliance Management

- New product development

- R&D Portfolio management

- Clinical Trial Operations

- Lab Informatics

- Quality Management Systems
