Role :

The role comprises managing the Credit Analytics Team (CAT) in India to ensure that the team provides efficient and effective support to onshore Credit Officers in credit risk assessment of Corporate and Institutional Banking counterparties

What the Business Does :

The Credit Analytics Team supports the global Credit Risk team in a team extension model covering the credit risk assessments for counterparties globally and across all client sectors.

- They analyse the management, industry, business evaluation of the company and financials assessment. The team prepares a credit application with financial spreads including historical and forecasted financial modelling and risk grading, LGD, PD and EAD recommendations. It is responsible for extracting and discussing the credit limits utilizations and challenging/considering the same with the credit officers based on the need for reviewing the limits in the annual review

Your Responsibilities :

As Vice President your key responsibilities will be:

- Ensure business interface with senior internal clients.

- Effective change management.

- Provide Credit Recommendation on the Annual Review.

- Agree to SLAs and meet required quality standards for the business.

- Ensure risks are thoroughly and objectively assessed for counterparties, taking into account all relevant financial, regulatory and market information.

- Drive monthly meetings with onshore and create consensus in driving the priorities on capacity for renewals, transactions, monitoring and themes for quality.

- Prioritization of Work as per the capacity, skill set and expectations of the Global Sector Leads and there team.

- Ensure satisfactory GIA scores, and risk and control policies are adhered to.

- Provide thought leadership and drive risk change.

- Accountable for driving KPI's in the team. Also, tracks KPIs in regular, accurate and timely MI with active stakeholder communication.

- Prioritization of Work as per the capacity, skill set and expectations of the Global Sector Leads and there team.

- High quality and timely service deliveries as per SLAs.

- Efficient and effective day-to-day management/operation of Credit Analytics team (maintaining requisite quality, productivity, GIA scores, compliance with applicable policies and procedures, effective risk controls, improving processes, cost control, talent management, effective change management, meeting KPIs etc). Owns the delivery of quality reviews within KPIs in the team.

- MI and KPI data/reports for the Credit Analytics team.

- Provide thought leadership and drive risk change.

- Look and create opportunity for growing the business.

- Proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes.

- Credit Recommendation

- Build, lead and manage a team of managers

- Embed the RHI People Plan in India in order to connect staff to the wider Finance community, achieve our business objectives and market RBS as the employer of choice both internally and externally in order to attract, retain and develop talent.

- Drive engagement surveys in your business area, i.e. Our View, Pulse Surveys. Take ownership for the design and delivery of necessary action plans to enhance engagement levels

- Ensure attrition below the benchmark (as per the RHI targets for the unit)

- Manage employee engagement initiatives, rewards and recognition activities for the team

- Ensure Training needs analysis as per skill matrix are taking place.

- Ensure resourcing and adequate capacity and capability available at all times for effective delivery

- Take ownership for the performance management, talent management and succession planning for the team

- Own and develop the risk and control mechanisms for the business to use to discharge its responsibilities,

- independently overseeing and challenging effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetites.

- Provide expert support, advice, management information and escalation to leaders and the business on risk management.

- This role also has standard accountabilities for management & supervision within their own department.

The Skills you will need :

- MBA/CA/CFA/Post Graduate

- At least 10 years relevant experience in credit risk with 5+ years in people management role with minimum team of 10

- Proven track record of developing people and talent in a global model

- Proven track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships (internal and external) at a senior level and on a global basis

- Proven ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner, to potentially very diverse audiences

- Ability to influence results through others without necessarily having formal authority.

- Manage Onshore Expectations and creating growth opportunities for team members and dealing with changes.

- Managing conflicts between onshore officers and CAT analysts and providing a sustainable solutions to such situations

- Advanced Service Quality management skills

- Advanced people and project management skills.

- Experience of setting-up new teams and departments

- Experience of working in an international, multi-site, service driven business

- Good knowledge of non-financial risks, including legal, documentation, reputational, regulatory and operational.
