Role The Individual will provide Treasury with market leading advice, assurance and ownership of critical processes such as Business Continuity Management that support the effective management of operational and regulatory compliance risk in the first line of defence. What the Business Does Based primarily in London, Manchester and India, RBS Treasury is responsible for the management of the balance sheet and all associated risks including liquidity, funding, capital, interest rate and foreign exchange. Within this framework the RBS Treasury Control & Assurance team are a 1st Line of Defence team working alongside other teams within RBS Treasury to deliver a consistent, robust and fit for purpose control framework through providing expertise over operational risk advisory & assurance Your Responsibilities As Control & Assurance Assistant Vice President your key responsibilities will be: - As an experienced professional within the team deliver market leading assurance services to Treasury - Perform local elements of the Risk & Control Assessment (- RCA- ) agenda for material processes based in THI and assist the business in the efficient and effective management of risks - For assigned areas of Treasury, deliver the assurance requirements across relevant Treasury controls including testing the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of controls to support the risk management framework - Deliver key MI such as key risk indicators and other dashboards to track risk in THI - Partner with assigned THI stakeholders to continually improve the risk and control environment through supporting on business change, transactions, or other initiatives that impact the operating environment - Perform activities that sustain critical Treasury processes such as Business Continuity Plans, Incident Management, EUDA or Records Management to ensure Treasury remains in compliance with policy requirements at all times - Contribute to the production of key committee packs (e.g. the Risk & Control Committee) The skills you will need - CA or post graduate/diploma holder in finance - A demonstrated ability to perform assurance activities gained through internal or external audit, 2LoD operational risk management or similar experience - Good knowledge of RCSA methodology, Operational Risk, SOx, Control Testing or similar gained in Internal or external audit or similar roles - Ability and emotional intelligence to drive delivery of a number of diverse activities across a number of areas including peers - Good communication, drafting and interpersonal skills in order to present complex business issues with clarity to senior staff - Understands some Treasury pillars such as Finance, Hedge Accounting, Liquidity Management, Capital Management, etc in order to provide tailored and effective advisory & assurance Why RBS?
