Role

- The role supports RBS Retail Banking on aspects of Credit Risk quantification and management, and review of Mortgage Credit Risk Appetite framework.

- The key portfolio supported is Mortgages. Key focus areas are analytical support for development, review and revision of credit policies in relation to customer acquisition and account management, credit line optimisation, Provisioning & loss forecasting, Credit and regulatory risk reporting and problem debt management.

- Review and tracking of the Retail Mortgage Credit Risk Appetite framework and portfolio projections.

- The incumbent is expected to develop and optimize retail banking strategies by analysing the performance of various asset portfolios to balance the trade off between risk and revenue. Understand and investigate portfolio movements and underlying trends

What the Business Does : 

Risk Analytics and Models, as part of a team extension model, supports the global teams and is responsible for annual reviews and redevelopment of the credit models and operational scorecards, support for data aligned to risk analytics activities including loss data reconciliation and model performance assessment using statistical techniques

Your Responsibilities : 

As Associate your key responsibilities will be:

- Scope out a business problem basis onshore discussions, ideate and propose a methodology, perform relevant analysis and share insights

- Provide detailed analysis to ensure a complete and accurate understanding of business inputs, outputs and methodologies to key stakeholders both internal and external, run investigations as required on key metrics movements and share findings

- Create documentation adhering to group risk policy and communicate with peers and executives.

- Build required validation/reconciliation checks and challenge accuracy of numbers

- As SME, take responsibility to address queries and provide guidance to team members

- Resolve stakeholder queries appropriately and promptly.

- Assist senior team members in maintaining a continuous training program and identifying training requirements for the team

- Participate in continuous improvement projects

- Identification of business problem backed by analysis

- Recommendation to business problem

- Accuracy of numbers

- Interactions with counterparts in other geographies, hence less than a 100% overlap in work hours

- Managing a varied stakeholder set and hence conflicting priorities

- Comply with Our Code, all RBS policies, - How we manage RBS-, and deliver against all relevant statutory, regulatory, supervisory and legal obligations.

- Proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes.

- Own and develop the risk and control mechanisms for the business to use to discharge its responsibilities, independently overseeing and challenging effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetites.

- Provide expert support, advice, management information and escalation to leaders and the business on risk management.

- This role also has standard accountabilities for management & supervision within their own department.

The Skills you will need : 

- Masters in quant disciplines such as Economics/Maths/statistics/Operations Research or MBA or B. Tech from IITs/NITs/Tier 1 institutes

- 4+ years experience in data mining/data analytics using SAS or similar data analysis packages

- Background in banking industry

- Retail Portfolio Analysis experience is preferable

- Ability to independently deliver projects

- Excellent communication skills
