The Role If your expertise lies in all matters relating to tax including tax compliance and advisory matters transfer pricing and STP/ SEZ regulations, a position as Senior Tax Manager is ideal for you. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that NWM SIPL operates in compliance with numerous tax and regulatory legislation. To qualify for this role, you need to have at least 10 years prior experience in Chartered Accountancy. What the Business Does This role is based in the Finance Hub India reporting to the Head of Tax. NWM SIPL would operate in a complex and dynamic environment and would be subject to compliance with numerous tax and regulatory legislation. Besides, the team would be responsible for following key activities: - Partnering with business to provide solutions from tax and regulatory perspective - Suggesting avenues for tax planning, cost optimization and avoiding tax leakages - Adherence with RBS Group policy and standards, and effective escalation/ mitigation of tax risks Your Responsibilities As Senior Tax Manager, you will be required to: - Manage strategy and cost: Timely compliances under applicable tax &amp; regulatory legislations; Engage with business partners and business stakeholder to ensure timely flow of information/ data for smooth functioning of various tax and regulatory compliances and projects; Regular interaction with other finance teams/stakeholders to identify key areas of concerns of business and then, aim to provide solutions from tax and regulatory perspective - Manage Relationships: Developing a strong relationship with RBS Tax function and ensuring compliance with RBS Tax Standards and Reporting Requirements; Preparing various MI reports and business decks and assisting Head of Tax in updating senior management about tax strategy, tax risks, statutory changes impacting business etc - Control: Maintaining a strong risk governance procedure; Ensuring that appropriate escalation is made to Head of Tax in case any risk is identified in tax compliances and controls - Forecast and Budget: Active involvement in forecasting and budgeting exercise and assisting Head of Tax in obtaining appropriate business approvals; Pursuant to finalization of budget, participating in monthly discussion with Legal Entity Controller to ensure appropriate accruals of budgeted expenses Skills you need - Technical Knowledge: Indian direct and indirect taxes; Strong knowledge of STPI and SEZ related issues; Broad understanding of international tax issues; Understanding of OECD transfer pricing principles and the practical knowledge of the application of Indian Transfer pricing regulations; Good working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint - Strong commercial awareness and business acumen; Communication skills - Ability to work in a flexible environment; Planning and organization capabilities; Analytical skillset Why RBS?
