Quest - Software Sales Role/Presales Consultant

Overview

Software Sales Engineer will be responsible for all technical sales of the Quest Information and System Management solutions such as NetVault, QoreStor, Rapid Recovery, vRanger, Foglight, Kace System Management, KACE System Deployment, Kace Service Desk, KACE Mobile Device Management, KACE Desktop Authority and KACE Privilege Manager. We are looking for a Sales Engineer to support selling. You are required to support partners, manage opportunities, customer visits, demo and proof of concept (POC), certification training, product updates, US HQ communication and troubleshooting.

The sales engineer is the bridge between India and product managers and engineering in the US. Field feedbacks, problem escalation and country specific requirements are examples of constant HQ communication.

Sales Engineer will support West India and South India regions and base location is Mumbai.

This position reports to the Manager, Software Sales Engineering India

Responsibilities

- Pre-sales support to help sales to clear technical issues to close deals

- Propose solutions to address customers' pain points

- Sell against competition

- Assist in developing RFP responses

- Solution demo, Proof of concept, Documentation & Guide Partners on the Same

- Problem escalation and follow-up to resolution

- Enable, Manage and support partners for Continuous Business Engagement

- Training - both product updates and certification training

- Strong written and oral communication skills, Solution proposal & presentation and selling skills: probing, supporting, closing, and overcome customer indifference

- Recognizing customer business problems and driving / influencing resources to address opportunities

- Knowledge of solution and value-based selling techniques

- Ability to sell to high-level executives using eloquent value propositions

- Up to 50% of travel depending on corporate guidlines

- Travelling may be required to cover West India and South India regions.

Technical Skills & Experience

- Good Understanding & Experience of top Backup and Recovery applications including Networker, Avamar, NetBackup, TSM, Data Protector, Commvault ,VEEAM, Asigara, Actifio , Quest NetVault, CA Arcserve as well as Disk and tape backup infrastructure and the purpose built backup appliance market (min. One Tool Complete Exposure should be there)

- Experience in SCCM or Altiris or IBM BigFix or Desktop Central or any ITAM-PATCHING-ITSM tool (min. One Tool Complete Exposure should be there)

- Understanding of Enterprise Storage like NAS, DAS, SAN and Object Storage, HDFS, RAID, software and hardware data replication along Software Defined Storage knowledge is needed

- Understanding of Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring solution like Solar Winds, VEEAM ONE, Foglight, VMware vRealize , Any Multi-Cloud Orchestration & Monitoring Tools is needed

- Depth Understanding of key concept of de-duplication, compression, server-less backup, network flow & connectivity, performance metrics understating Disk I/O, CPU , Memory, network speed,etc

- Understanding of Enterprise archiving techniques and applications

- Cloud storage market and use backup/ DR cases - S3/REST, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure Tenant/ Blob

- Virtualization - VMWare, Hyper-V, RHEV, Nutanix, Cloud computing

- Fair Working Knowledge and understanding of below topics will be added advantage

- Backup Software & Replication Software

- Knowledge and Understanding of Backup Server, Media Server, and Replication Software

- Good Understanding on these technologies like Oracle, SQL, MySQL, NDMP, VMware VADP & Hyper-V is an Advantage

- Knowledge on Tape Backup , Disk Backup and Cloud backup and restore skills

- Asset and Patch Management Understanding and Vulnerability products is a plus

- Understanding/ Knowledge on Industry Standard Packaging, deployment, patching Solutions and Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) tools

- Understanding of IT/System Inventory, Asset Management, Software Distribution, Software License Management, Patch Management and Service Desk Ticketing Workflow Process

- Understanding of tools which does System Investigation, analysis and mechanisms for preventing such reoccurrences

- Networking (DHCP, DNS, vLAN on Switch/Router & DMZ on Firewall) - Good Understanding and sound knowledge on networking

- Linux O.S & Package Installation with basic Scripting knowledge

- Good understanding on Linux O.S Configuration and Package/Update Distribution for Multi-Server Environment

- Good understanding on Linux FileSystem Mounting against LUN configured and assigned for Backup or Data Management

- Hypervisor Understanding of VMware ESXi / Microsoft Hyper-V / Nutanix acropolis / RHEV / KVM

- Knowledge of Connecting Hypervisor with Generic Applications like Backup, Monitoring, Asset Management Tools, etc using ready configuration GUI Consoles.

- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

- Simple presentation, Good written and verbal communication skills is mandatory

- Capable of multi-tasking and accepting change both in tasks and schedule

- Ability to handle and drive Incident Review bridges by identifying potential Problems; recommend solutions to be implemented

- Customer facing, technical troubleshooting experience, including at customer sites and remote interactions.

- Experience with logging and debugging tools.

- Working with Other Pre-Sales for co-ordinated Effort to achieve the Business Objectives with proper Analytical and problem-solving skills

- 9+ years working experience
