Job description and requirements for Quantitative Analyst
- Work required at our end
- Managing a large amount of data and the creation of models to deliver precise and error-free data insights
- Development of user-friendly computational models from scratch for:
- Risk analytics
- Market analytics
- Valuation
- Understanding existing operations and provide inputs for enhancements/automation
- Getting required applications developed by working along with IT team and business team
Skills and Knowledge expected from a candidate:
- Advanced mathematics and Statistics (Should have sound concepts)
- Applied numerical procedures
- Transformations and Expansions of function/series
- Monte Carlo methods and Probability distribution
- Volatility structures and forecasting
- Regressions and Time series analysis
- Working knowledge of models like GARCH and EWMA
Computational skills:
- Should have expertise in at least one programming language
- Working knowledge of database management
- Basic level understanding of either Python/MATLAB/R will be appreciable
- Expertise in advanced excel and VBA
- Financial markets and instruments (Expected to have knowledge of instruments w.r.t pricing/analytics etc)
- Fixed income instruments (Corporate bonds/ G-Sec/T-Bill/SDL)
- Derivatives
- Structure and function of financial institutions
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and business practices involved in financial markets (particularly fixed income and derivatives)
- Qualification expected from a candidate
- B.E./B.Tech. or PG degree in Mathematics (or other courses where the candidate is expected to have studied advanced mathematics) or MBA with FRM having programming skills
- Studied programming at the graduate level (Any language)
- Experience expected from a candidate
Should have been involved for 3 to 5 years in:
- Complex data management
- Data analytics/Data insight generation
- Creation/validation of Risk/Valuation/Analytics models
- Working with IT development teams to get applications developed
