We are having an opening for QA Manager with hard core product development company in Social Media domain.

Core Elements of the Job

Test manager, a managerial role contains both the aspects of program delivery and people management in a highly agile environment. This position is responsible for providing leadership to the team, setting direction for the team, ensuring all commitments are met and developing strong partnership with other groups, globally. Test manager will manage a team whose goal is to improve product by: creating and managing software test plans; writing test cases; and writing testable software specifications from requirements. Building alliance with teams will be key.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- People Management: Hiring right talent. Ensuring that people rhythm-of-business activities are completed on time and with a diligence that inspires the team to go an extra mile, stay motivated and deliver programs. Some of these activities are: Career Development Plans, Resource Planning, Training Plans, Performance Reviews, and Rewards. Build organizational strength by recruiting strong talent to fill openings and developing existing team members.

- Delivery: Ensuring that all programs are delivered with agreed upon business value, on time and highest quality.

- Manage a rapidly growing test team of SDETs, managers and leads working on multiple product feature areas.

- Drive and contribute to product level test strategy and architecture.

- Define the platform quality bar and mechanisms for prevention and earlier detection of SLA issues.

- Implement development of shared test infrastructure for platform wide testing

- Ensure that all features embody engineering best practices, efficient, scalable architecture elegant design and high quality implementation.

- Drive quality process and trustworthy computing initiatives throughout the product lifecycle to eliminate architecture, design and coding defects at the source.

- Lead reviews to ensure consistently high level of design and implementation.

- Technology Management: Enabling the team to innovate and create strong partnership with other groups;

Risk Management: Ability to manage risks related to people, technology and processes.

Job Location

This position is based in Bangalore, India and will report to the Engineering QA Head.

Desired Profile:

- 9 + years of IT experience effectively delivering and implementation of mission critical business applications /Solutions. College degree in Business, Technology (BA or BS preferred), Computer Science or related discipline - equivalent experience.

- The ideal candidate is a quality-driven engineering leader, having experience with large scale enterprise products, solutions and services.

- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership, driving long-range thinking about business and operations strategy and inspiring others to work towards that vision is imperative.

- This person must have experience managing a high performance test team, driving projects, has deep technical expertise in automation and implementation of solid testing practices – Creation and execution of regression test cases on every builds, Test Automation, Performance and Scalability testing, Destructive test case development, Security testing, BC/DR testing.

- Proven ability to lead, coach and provide leadership to staff, including development of goals, objectives and performance success criteria.

- Proven ability in managing core functions of Test of an engineering team & relevant experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes.

- Self-starter, who can deal with ambiguity, maintains focus, drives to clarity and provides innovative solutions and strategic thinking

- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis in translating technical content for a non-technical management / executive audience.

- Preferably development managers who are interested in a career in testing.
