Introduction:

Facilitating incremental growth is the key objective of the markets and industries team. The Industries program is the Firm’s premier initiative envisaged at meeting the above goal. The program provides an integrated approach for addressing sector needs and driving client interactions. It will ensure that our people are working in a consistent and coordinated way; getting and will help our firm. Implementation of the industries program will help us:

- Create/ customize our offerings and thought leadership specific to the sector

- Place the client’s needs at the core of our marketing program

- Globally coordinate sector teams in sharing best practices and embedding them into the India practice

About the role:

- The Knowledge Manager (KM) will report to the sector leader for the respective sectors and to the Markets leader from an overall program perspective.

- Will work closely with the sector leader and sector team to ensure that the sector plan is developed and implemented.

- Should be able to understand the direction and objectives of the firm and the sector

- Understand the sector and its issues in the context of client needs and firm services and solutions

- Serves as the central point of contact and communication resource for all sector team members and overall “go to” resource on the sector for the Firm.

- Helping in early stage opportunity development.

- Assist in the development of appropriate approach to build relationships and positioning the firm favourable with key stakeholders at the account.

- Interface with LoS and account teams to ensure adequate representation in sector team and drive the go-to-market strategy

- Interface with the Markets & Industries team to refer opportunities, share best practices, facilitate training and assist in program management.

- Collaborate with global KMs to agree and coordinate a seamless execution of the sector KM strategy globally

- Develop a subject matter expertise program and issues-oriented communities of practice to facilitate knowledge generation, capture, management, sharing and leveraging around these key topics

- Identify priority industry issues and other high value content types (e.g., citations, capability statements) through discussions with leadership and practitioners

- Collate and share insights into competitive positioning, demand trends, client feedback and market opportunities. Also develop internal and external communication material on the sector such as – though leadership materials, newsletters, MIS etc.

- Drive participation in the client feedback process and sector team to contribute to the annual planning process.

- Control quality and quantity of information available to practitioners through application of content management principles (e.g., quality assurance, risk management) and through the regular archiving and purging of outdated/superseded/duplicative content to key knowledge repositories

- Role breakup: Sector Management (70%); Business Development (20 %); Program Management (10%)

Skills required:

- Project management: Extremely well organised, efficient and proactive with the ability to deliver in a timely manner. Taking ownership, and working both autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent influencing and communication skills and a proactive “can-do” approach. Should be strong on follow ups and have problem solving ability. Advanced research, examination, and investigative skills for online, print, and traditional methods. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Firm Knowledge: Should have good understanding of Firm, global network of firms, a thorough understanding of the firm solutions, structures and people. Ability to understand client issues and correlate them with the firm’s service offerings

- Business development: Should have a flair for business development in the space of services and solution selling. Should have a good understanding of Firm solutions and comfortable in making an elevator pitch to external stakeholders.

- Relationship management: Particularly strong people skills, people management, working with various internal and external stakeholders. Ability to quickly understand and translate sector requirements to ensure PwC solutions are aligned/ customised to the sector issues.

- Flexibility: Given the nature of the job maintaining personal flexibility to meet deadlines is key. Willingness to travel as required and manage many multiple tasks and accounts requirements simultaneously is required. A good sense of humour is an added advantage.
