Our client is a successful and expanding supplier of Wire, Cable and Wiring Systems, employing over 60,000 people in over 99 locations in 32 countries worldwide, with sales revenue in excess of €3 billion in 2011. They supply major customers in the automotive, commercial vehicle sectors from their world class manufacturing facilities. In line with their rigorous expansion in India, they are looking forward to recruit a Purchasing Manager for their Pune operations.

Job Description

Reporting into the Purchasing Director UK; your core responsibilities will entail:

- Making inquiries (Global Sourcing) for development parts and serial parts for project applications according to commodity strategy.

- Supporting selection, release and development of new suppliers in consultancy with Business Units and Commodity Purchasing

- Negotiating prices and conditions for new parts considering total acquisition cost.

- Developing the strategy under consideration of synergies resulting of a global demand- and supplier pooling and future needs (e.g. new locations, products, make or buy decisions.

- Observing cost targets and defining and applying a global purchasing policy while communicating this into the Bu's

- Projecting and managing the introduction of our clients design parts in line with project requirements

The Successful Applicant

You are a graduate from a top tier MBA school. You have at least 10 to 14 years of Purchasing/Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Experience within the automotive industry. You have well developed negotiation and presentation skills
