Responsibilities :

- Production of monthly financial accounts by cost centre.

- Ensure complete and accurate posting of transactions to the general ledger and the related accounting systems.

- Produce information for tax, statutory and regulatory reporting.

- To be responsible for the production of quarterly returns (eg. VAT) for review by the Financial Accountant.

- Assist with project work as and when required.

- Analysis of Spends against Budget and Forecast for all GHO Business Areas

- Assist in the Budget and Forecasting Activity

- Submission of annual and half yearly ABI and ONS Returns for the Group

- Weekly and Monthly Utilisation and Financial Reporting to the IT Executive Committee

- Invoice Processing and one point contact for all expense related queries.

- To be able to provide effective cover for other team members, in particular, to be able to process critical daily and weekly transactions within tight deadlines.

- Plan and schedule work to meet deliverable time lines

- Co-ordinate and monitor process improvement initiatives

- Prepare and implement robust cross training plans

- To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise

Knowledge & Skills :

- Technical accounting knowledge, UKGAAP, IFRS and USGAAP.

- Ability to monitor a SOX compliant control process.

- Excellent knowledge of Excel (advanced) and PeopleSoft.

- Strong communication skills, both oral & written

- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation & externally.

- Time Management and Workload Planning Skills

- Good interpersonal skills.

Education :

- Qualified accountant with post qualification experience / graduate or post graduate with commerce background

Work experience :

- Qualified Accountant - 2 to 3 years post qualification experience

- Graduate/Post Graduate - 5 to 6 years relevant experience
