Job Title : Analyst - Statistical Modeler

Reports to : AM/DM/ - Analytics

Scope of Role :

Group Head Office, Prudential UK, Prudential Corporation Asia, M&G, JNL

Job Dimensions : Financial - The role has no financial responsibilities.

Non Financial :

- This role has no direct reports and will work under a Deputy Manager / Manager

Overall Job Purpose :

- Work on projects in the areas of Customer Analytics, Distribution Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Operations Analytics and HR Analytics for UK, Asia and US geographies

- Support Sr. Specialists and Managers in providing analytic consulting - Provide assistance in developing and scaling up the practice by participating in client development activities, new content / POCs / solutions generation, conducting domain / technical trainings etc.

- Should have hands on experience in analytics delivery, through the entire life cycle of an analytics engagement - independent project delivery capability.

- Should be open to travel to client locations in India / abroad for short / long duration depending on the project requirements

Accountabilities/Responsibilities :

Develop Statistical Models : Apply advanced analytical techniques such as regression modelling, time-series analysis, cluster & factor analysis and segmentation to create different models :

To understand and analyse customer behaviour and help build forecasting modes / propensity models to gain more insights into customer behaviour

To understand distribution effectiveness of various channels

To establish linkage between marketing effort spend and its effectiveness

To forecast business volumes (e.g. product sales, transaction volumes etc)

Conduct advanced statistical analyses : Explain and perform a variety of statistical and data mining techniques e.g. discrete choice/conjoint analysis, latent class and other clustering techniques, maximum difference scaling, multivariate and logistic regressions, decision trees (e.g. CHAID/CART), and factor and correspondence/MDS analysis.

- Train and coach consultants on basic statistical and analytical procedures

Skills :

- 2 - 4 years of relevant Analytics experience with focus on problem solving and advanced analytics solutions

- Proficient in analytical tools such as SAS, R, SPSS, MS-Excel or other statistical softwares

- Proficient in SQL and VBA automation

- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as linear/ logistic regression, clustering, decision tree modeling, text mining, machine learning etc

- Proficient in at least one data visualization application such as Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire etc

- Excellent written and verbal communication

- Superior analytical and problem solving skills

Required:

- Expertise in few of the statistical platforms such as SPSS / SAS / R / SQL / SPSS - Clementine

- Basic statistical concepts (T-test, Z-test, Chi-square test, Parametric/Non-parametric tests, ANOVA, etc.)

- Expertise in applying advanced predictive statistical techniques to develop regression, time series, segmentation models. Exposure to design of experiments

- Database management systems

- Advanced skill in MS-Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Visual Basic for Applications for MS Office

- Ability to summarise and effectively present complex analytical insights, observations and recommendations to an audience using business language

- Ability to develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work alone or with limited supervision

- Responsibility and Attention to Detail - Take responsibility for delivery of precise and accurate analyses, models, dashboards and reports to tight timescales and work to resolve problems when they occur

- Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and self development

Good to have :

- Exposure to Operations Research techniques (optimization, simulation and heuristics)

- Knowledge of marketing domain; campaign development, delivery and analysis; customer targeting techniques

- Exposure to insurance domain and financial services industry

- Knowledge of significant regulatory processes, specifically including data protection

- International work experience
