About Company:

Propelld is a new age lending startup focusing in the education market doing an annual INR 1,000cr disbursal, backed by WestBridge Capital (largest in Financial Services space - backers of Axis, HDFC, CIBIL, AU small finance bank, Sharechat, Mamaearth, etc), looking to grow 20x times in the next 3 years to an eventual IPO. Propelld is set to become one of the largest FinTechs in India over the next 3-4 yrs and hence growth and opportunities will be limitless at this role.

Open Position:

Leadership role in the Risk function (position name would be decided basis the experience the candidate)

Expected deliverables:

- Developing risk maps and formulating strategic action plans to help minimize, manage, and mitigate primary risks and then monitor the progress of these efforts.

- Creating and disseminating risk analysis reports and progress reports to different stakeholders, including employees, board members, and C-suite executives.

- Ensuring that risk management priorities are reflected in the company's strategic plans.

- Measuring the organization's risk appetite, and setting the amount of risk that the organization is able - and willing - to take on.

- Developing budgets for risk-related projects and supervising their funding

- Conducting risk assurance and due diligence on behalf of the organization in the events of mergers, acquisitions, and business deals.

- Creating various strategies to reduce risk exposure and designating appropriate responses when human errors or system failures occur.

- Creating budgets for high-risk projects and overseeing their funding

Desired Candidate Profile:

(1) Risk professional with 15+ years of experience across a bank/NBFC with experience across retail-individual and retail business (micro businesses) fraud/risk

(2) Proven experience (minimum 12 years) in risk management, preferably within the fin-tech or financial services industry, with a focus on operational risk, credit risk & compliance risk.

(3) Strong knowledge of fin-tech products, unsecured lending products, services, and technologies, as well as the regulatory landscape governing the industry.

(4) Experience in Product and Credit Policy formulation, Collections and Recovery, Fraud and Operational Risks.

(5) Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions.

(6) Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to build and lead a high performing risk management team

(7) Sound understanding of risk management tools and techniques and experience in utilizing data analytics for risk modelling and decision-making

(8) Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

(9) Good negotiation skills

(10) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

(11) Self-starter/Entrepreneurial - has to get hands dirty and build things from scratch, incl. setting up processes and building the team

(12) Must be able to work in a highly dynamic environment

(13) High initiatives and ownership - getting work done onus, tweaking processes, working with product and other crossfunctional teams to tweak processes

(14) Ability to be logical, to challenge known norms, to be able to define strategy clearly, management presence
