About Promethean :

Promethean Power Systems designs and manufactures refrigeration systems for cold storage and milk-chilling applications in off-grid and partially electrified areas of developing countries. Our patented technology enables our customers to reduce chilling costs by 75% through eliminating the need for diesel generators. Our key customers include Amul, Mother Dairy, Nestle, Lactalis, BRAC, Heritage and Hatsun.

About the role :

- Promethean is seeking to hire a Business Development Manager to successfully build and pilot customized solutions targeted at large diary manufacturers.

- You will be responsible for the end-end-end management of launching new products, from research to execution. A key part of the role will be understanding the current processes of milk chilling to identify areas from improvement. You will be instrumental in conducting trials and collecting data to prove the viability of new solutions.

- The Business Development Manager role is critical for Promethean's growth plans, and will give you the unparalleled opportunity to launch a business from scratch and develop it into a full-fledged vertical. You will operate as a start-up business unit, exclusive from Promethean's regular operations.

Detailed responsibilities :

Solution selling :

Able to understand client requirements to develop a customized value proposition for large organizations :

- Introduce new mobile chilling equipment for remote locations

- Introduce new OPEX-based business model into the market

- .Build a successful pilot partnership with a large corporate client, including data collection, to prove the viability

Stakeholder management :

- Capable of managing a diverse range of stakeholders, from senior executives to rural farmers:

- Engage with senior executives at large corporates in the dairy industry by understanding their requirements for milk chilling

- Build a strong rapport with rural farmers to understand milk collection process and improvement areas

- Collaborate with internal management to get their buy-in to execute new products/business plans

- .Maturity to engage with senior internal and external stakeholders in different markets

Independent project execution :

- Capable of owning the entire project life cycle end-to-end, including budgets and timelines:

- Understand specific customer requirements, including field research

- Customize the solution

- Negotiate final commercials and close the deal

- Willing and resilient to deliver results without direct reports

Desired candidate profile :

- 6+ years of experience across B2B sales OR experience in corporate key account management

- Experience customising solutions based on customer requirements

- Experience developing and executing business plans

- Able and passionate to travel (50-75% of time), with significant time spent in rural areas

- Strong verbal communication across English and Hindi

- A dynamic, self-motivated and curious individual who is willing to get their hands dirty

- Experience launching new products that have low customer awareness

- Experience driving new business models into the market

- Experience selling products/services with a 5-10L INR ticket size

- Experience managing 3-6 month projects, including PnL and timelines

- Experience in industries like engineering procurement & construction, renewable energy and industrial machinery

- Experience working with rural markets

- Engineering degree preferred
