Project Supply Chain Manager - Global MNC

The role is with Leading Global EPC Player (GLOBAL MNC-150+YRS OLD German Group) based at Gurgaon

Requirements:

- Graduate Electrical or Post Graduate Electrical Engineer with around 12 to 20 years of industrial experience in project management, estimation, production and SC Function.

- Good understanding of working in EPC environment.

- Clear understanding of end-to-end Project execution and Supply Chain function.

- Self-motivated and self-organized Expert, should be able to work independently with focus on completing tasks without any supervision.

- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, especially should be able to communicate freely in English.

- Strong Analytical skills, should be able to work with excel data with capacity to interpret and understand complex data.

- Should be a team player with excellent organization & co-ordination skills.

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams with excellent problem solving skills. Job requires the candidate to be very flexible and understanding.

- Should be well versed with MS-Office Suite (Excel / Word / Power point) and working knowledge of MM

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Objective of the role:

The Project Supply Chain Manager is the coordinator and central representative for the project in all matters of the project's supply chain.

The PSCM ensures that the project's strategic interests as well as project specific requirements in purchasing, production, quality assurance and shipment are known to the CoE and companies involved in the project and are taken into account in compliance with the applicable guidelines.

Responsibilities :

- Preparation and implementation of the project supply chain strategy and responsibility for the SC budget

- SC schedule controlling in cooperation with the OPM

- Escalation and resolution in the case of project-overlapping conflicts of objectives in coordination with the relevant line managers

- Attaining the goals of the project and ensuring compliance with scheduling, quality and budget requirements of the SC work package

- Management of the SC project team

- SC input to the overall time schedule

- Decisions that are relevant for the success of the project are safeguarded by applying the two-person rule with the Project Manager Sales or the Contract Manager.

- The PSCM is responsible for continuous risk/opportunity management in the project in relation to the SC work packages

- Input and storing/safeguarding of information ("lessons learned") for SC related matters

Organizational positioning:

The Project Supply Chain Manager is a member of the project core team and reports to the Project Manager for specific project functionally.

Project Supply Chain Manager is integral part of Supply Chain and reports to Head SC.

Tasks:

General section:

- Based on the concepts defined in the sales phase & ASE (As-Sold Estimation), the Project Supply Chain Manager develops and communicates the project-specific procurement, purchasing, in-house production and logistics concept, agrees upon with the project manager and contract manager.

- Coordination of project specific supply chain activities with local and international Group entities

- Plans and implements savings and reviews the fulfilment of objectives and targets

- Coordination of the approval and handling of RFI/RFP/PO negotiations

Project start phase:

- Communicates and implements the project-specific requirements placed by the project in the supply chain organization, both internally and across companies.

- Coordination with the project core team and implementation of project-specific documentation and tools

- Adaptation of any existing templates to the project-specific requirements for quotation requests and purchase orders (e.g. back-to-back rules, terms of payment, contractual penalties, warranty, etc.)

- Initiation and control of all project-specific purchasing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and shipping activities and monitoring of suppliers' deadlines, budgets, and quality.

- Provision of relevant information on project scheduling milestones and requirements to the Order Processing Manager (OPM)

- Assisting the Project Risk Management team with risk analyses and tracking risks and measures in SC-related matters.

- Contract analysis from a supply chain perspective based on information provided by the Contract Manager.

Project controlling phase:

- Monitoring of the budget/planned costs for purchasing/procurement/in-house manufacturing as well as reporting and tracking deviations in consultation with the Project Manager/Contract Manager.

- Coordination of results and requisite measures from the monitoring of key order volumes (progress,deadlines, and quality).

- Creation of a decision-making basis for key order volumes and the selection of suppliers in coordination with the Project Manager and the Contract Manager.

- Conducting negotiations and awarding key supply orders

- Preparation of a plan and progress monitoring concept for suppliers and partners of the main order volumes with the Order Processing Manager (OPM)

- Establishment of a quality monitoring concept for suppliers and partners for the main order volumes

- Ensuring the implementation and effective execution of integrated processes for managing changes that fall under the responsibility of the supply chain

- Ensuring an active and passive system of claims management vis- vis suppliers

- Organization of spot checks of the manufacturing progress and quality of suppliers/manufacturers in coordination with the project's supply chain team(s) and the internal organizational units responsible.

- Higher-level coordination of the packaging and shipping service providers as well as of shipments from the place of performance of the supplier/consortium member and of in-house workshops.

Project closing:

- Ensuring the full availability of documentation that is relevant for the supply chain in a central project storage location/project archive

- Storing and safeguarding "lessons learned" for problems in the supply chain team

Decision right / Authority

- Is the project's central coordinator for supply chain-related matters and manages the SC members assigned to the project team

- Defines project-specific supply chain specifications/requirements with the project team

- May request all SC-relevant project-related data and information

- Knows the "baseline" of the project: Scope of supplies and services, contractual deadlines, payments and securities, budget(s), risk distribution, and the management of changes, non-conformity, defects and delays

- Represents the project's supply chain in all matters (technical and commercial)
