Project Manager - Risk Models - Wholesale

Risk Services India (RSI) provides second line risk management support to Risk functional areas including Credit Risk, Market Risk, COO, Operational Risk and Regulatory Risk. It performs a key role in the Risk global operating model and has extensive interaction with other front to back teams in trading hubs, processing centres and branches. The division established in Q3, 2011 employs c150 employees providing services to risk functions across Markets & International Banking, Ulster Bank, Corporate & Institutional Banking, Business & Commercial Banking, and Customer Solutions Group (Lombard & Invoice Financing) The division is going through a significant growth adding on additional activities in risk modelling, risk reporting, controls and analytics as part of Risk location strategy.

Reporting to the Team Head of RMW India, the Senior Project Manger is responsible for developing plans that support the development and validation of wholesale models covering credit risk RWAs of ~£300bn.

The scope of the models extend to but are not necessarily restricted to:

- Probability of Default (PD)

- Loss Given Default (LGD)

- Exposure at Default (EAD)

- Economic Capital

- Stress Testing

The job holder is responsible for working with the RMW Team Heads of Data, Modelling and Implementation in London and the Team Head in India to develop project plans related to:

- Construction of historical time series used for model development.

- Model annual reviews and subsequent implementation.

Day-to-day activities include:

- Creating and maintaining project plans that cover the end-to-end model development life cycle.

- Assisting senior RMW management in providing key project reporting including tracking against plan and provision of key metrics.

- Helping manage and prioritise resource allocations to meet key deliverables.

- Representing RMW at relevant governance forums, ensuring all projects are managed within appropriate governance standards.

- Managing risk, issues and dependencies related to these projects and providing regular status reports.

- Facilitating regular meetings with RMW Team Leads and Risk IT.

The job holder is required to provide guidance to senior management across the various divisions on model planning. The role therefore requires strong communication and people management skills.

The job holder will be a key member of the RMW team and provide representation at key committees and working groups to discuss the team’s progress against plans.

Technical Knowledge:

- Strong project management skills.

- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent.

- Broad understanding of risk management principles within Financial Services.
