Procurement Project Manager
Role Summary:
- As part of the Program Management Office, the Project Manager works directly with Project Owners to coordinate key projects for the business.
- These projects will vary and may include the implementation of new processes or improvement to existing processes.
- Strong project coordination skills are required.
- Duties will include all aspects of planning and execution including periodic communication, project timeline, resource and budget management, requirements definition and logistics definition.
- This role will work with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise to successfully deliver solutions.
Years of Experience: 5-6 years of experience in a project management role+ Procurement+ Global Sourcing corporate services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/PG degree required.
- Direct work experience in a project management capacity.
- Track record of delivering in complex environments.
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
- Proficient in project management software.
Responsibilities:
- Works with the project owner to define project goals, identify requirements, assign resources, create timelines and periodic communication of project status.
- Creates and executes project plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Gathers all project information: schedules, data requests, assignments, tasks, and project meetings.
- Process daily, weekly and monthly reporting to ensure all schedules run smoothly, all jobs are completed as prescribed, and all invoicing is processed in a timely fashion.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Schedule project follow-up meetings as needed.
- Maintain document control, database management, track project activities and team communication.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Assemble and coordinate project teams.
- Prepare and/or edit meeting minutes and presentations.
- Responsible to take input from the business analysts and project engineers to develop and maintain the detailed schedule.
- Works with the project team to understand and assist with tracking all work, tasks, and project assignments.
Candidate Requirements:
- Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including many departments within the business and IT.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of technical system requirements and operational processes and procedures in an asset management organization.
- Understanding of accounting rules for project capitalization and expense management.
