This is a fulltime position that will be responsible for running project with sugar mills in India in order to increase output/reduce costs using precision farming interventions. The candidate would conceive and own the sugarcane projects, oversee the progress of work on field, provide the assessment of project execution, and validate and report effectiveness, operational challenges, business insights etc. Will require working closely with international partners for project delivery.

This position will require travel to the field where projects are getting executed.

Responsibilities:

- Conceive precision farming interventions with sugar mills and plan the related work to ensure timelines and project cost

- Launch the pilot projects with sugar mills, investigate the value proposition and scale up.

- Enhance the value proposition to sugar mills by working closely with them to implement the solutions at the mills and integrate the solutions as part of the mill systems

- Partner with leading tech players to develop satellite imagery analytics capabilities

- Conceive and launch the new satellite imagery based analytics projects based on the targeted use cases.

- Scale up the value proposition across different crops across India

- Capture continuous customer feedback and refine the solutions as required

- Frugalize solutions (software, UX/UI etc.) by partnering with internal groups / external vendors

- Liaise among precision agriculture group, farmers, technology partners, local support groups etc.

- Understand all stages of crop growth including nutritional requirements, typical insects, diseases, weeds and its relevance with drone-based solutions

- Work closely with cross functional team internally like Go To Market, Digital etc.

- Compile and document the field observations periodically

- Report out the findings and a summary report

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Preferably Agri engineering)

- Master's degree in Business Administration or Agribusiness Management preferred

- 2-3 years of experience in Agriculture related field in Agritech industry, Agri machinery, Agri Inputs etc.

Skills :

- Effective organization and time management and the ability to balance and prioritize tasks

- Should be open to collaborate with external stake holders, tech startups, industry associations

- Must be willing to learn new processes, agronomic practices, new technologies and other skills that may be required
