Project Director - Hydro - Construction

Job Purpose

- Handling the 810 MW Hydro project from Construction till commissioning of the project

Relevant Experience:

A} Should have execution experience of complete handling as a Project head of large hydro project of magnitude at least equivalent to that of Ratle HEP or 500MW.

B} Should have experience of high concrete gravity dam (70 to 100M) and preferably that of RCC.

C} Should have experience of large underground caverns, tunnels and other related works.

Nature of Responsibilities

- Managing the entire life cycle of the project from construction to commissioning

- Overall management of project execution to ensure timely completion of work within budget and as per quality standards

- Ensuring smooth contract closure with contractors, consultants and other associated vendors

- Managing the contract with EPC (Civil & HM), E&M & other consultants.

- Interfacing between various contractors and consultants.

- Responsible for conceptual planning of projects, contract agreements, cost estimation, budget & cash flow, project scheduling, resource mobilization, timely completion of project & maintaining quality of work.

- Responsible for specifications and quality aspects of Major Project Components like Dam, Large underground Power House, tunnels, inclined Pressure Shaft, Surge shaft/ chambers, including Gates & Electromechanical Works

- Handling onsite works and ensuring that the same are undertaken smoothly without major obstacles by meticulous planning, foreseeing the problems by studying drawings and other documents issued by the Consultants / EPC and Vendors.

- Conducting progress review meetings with both internal and with contracting agencies and guide them to undertake necessary actions

- Monitoring project status and updating the management on progress and Status of Project

- Monitoring HSE norms, compliance to statutory regulations stipulated by authorities on regular basis (MOEF etc) , inspecting work and reporting & taking appropriate decision for necessary actions on any violation

- Ensuring team building and providing effective leadership to realize the potential of every member of team for quantifiable results & helping in career development of team members

Essential Qualification - B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Preferred Qualification - PG in Project Management / MBA

Experience - 22 – 25 years in Hydro power project execution

Age : < 55 years

Desired Skill sets

- Should have excellent communication skills, team building spirit and leadership qualities

- Ability for resource analysis, time cycle analysis, productivity detailing, monitoring, costing and budgeting, work execution, follow – up and problem solutions to achieve time & cost

- Should have good inter personal skills to deal with client and local population
