Reason for the hire:

Social Alpha is looking for a Program Manager to work in the Innovations for Circularity space, which involves building a pipeline of early-stage start-ups and supporting the multi-stakeholder programs focused on waste management and processing to advance circularity in India. This role requires the ability to build trust and credibility with many different stakeholders, advanced program and people management skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative work environment. This role will also include interacting with external stakeholders, such as the start-up ecosystem, global philanthropies, corporations, civil society groups and the government to accelerate circular economy in the country. The Manager will also need to have an acute understanding of the circular economy climate action intersectionality and strong foundational problem solving skills seasoned professional to come on board as Lead-Human Resources. The incumbent will fill a critical gap in having an industry expert who will help take Solar Decathlon India event to the next level. The incumbent will play a key role in creating best in class HR practices and policies to help company achieve its business objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute strategy for innovations in circularity in India, including thesis development, outreach, and onboarding thesis aligned start-ups and designing and managing incubation and acceleration programs

- Provide support to entrepreneurs across ideation, acceleration, investment, and scale-up stage.

- Manage the development and execution of the programs to achieve the outcomes and goals.

- Operationalize program plans into detailed activities. Manage timelines and budgets to ensure funder and partner obligations are met.

- Act as the main point of contact and liaise with partner organizations to implement planned program activities and coordinate with team members and partners to ensure consistency of communications messaging to audiences, including collaboration with key partners.

- Lead the development of strategic relationships with stakeholders in the circularity space and establish partnerships to support early-stage enterprises in the sector.

The need for flexibility is required and the job holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Must Haves:

- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-12 years professional experience within relevant fields of waste management and recycling, climate action, corporate social responsibility, international development, or related sectors.

- Experience of working in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem is preferred, but not essential

Preferable:

- Experience of working with the development sector shall be preferred.

- Sound judgment. Ability to influence senior managers and be seen as a credible source of advice.
