We are looking for Program Head (a not-for-profit organization -NGO) in Mumbai.

5 - 8 years in an organization in the field of Education

Job Title: Program Head

Reports to:CEO

Key Interfaces:

1. Academic Head for Program Design

2. Chief Operating Officer

3. Head Masters, Teachers at the respective schools

4. Trustees

5. Students

6. Parents / Community

7. Funders / Donors as and when required

Key Responsibilities

School Upgradation:

- Determine the strategy for the school upgradation agenda - determine the common elements to be implemented across the schools and those that need to be implemented as per the grades of schools.

- Convert the strategy in terms of an annual activity plan with clear goals and outcomes, key initiatives, events, activities, milestones, etc.; plan the delivery activities and initiatives in accordance with the school upgradation program. The activity plan to have a multi-pronged approach to impact different stakeholders (HM, teachers, trustees, etc) as well as leverage different success factors such as program design, facilities, teaching-learning material, other education material and equipment (e.g. Computers) etc.

- Cascade this plan to Sr. Program Manager to ensure that the Masoom plan is customized to school needs based on their grades and therefore their specific needs

- Ensure that this cascade happens to the respective schools through Sr.Program Manager.

- Roll out the Outcomes assessment framework for the implementation of the activity plan - ensure alignment with Impact Assessment framework of the Academic team. The roll out of the framework should clearly assess the strengths of the program and identify areas for improvement

Scale-up plan Implementation:

- Be the key person to take the scale up plan forward through the implementation of New school selection process

- Collaboration with Program Specialist such as (Sr. Program Manager, SSC, SMDC & MIS):

- Provide inputs to the Academic team (Academic Head) for design of the academic and other programs to be implemented in the schools; bring in on-ground and school realities to ensure that the programs that are designed have a night school-centric approach

- Consult the SMDC, MIS and SSC team on program design based on M&E tools and qualitative feedback on implementation of the program

- Work out a training calendar for the different programs; ensure attendance of Sr. Program Managers & Program Managers.

- Work with other functional heads to plan and / or roll out key initiatives such as specific career programs, opportunities for the students.

- Schedule structured meetings with the agenda to provide periodic feedback on programs being implemented in the schools

- Ensure that the MIS Manager provides regular reports based on M&E tools to the Program team to provide feedback and evaluation results

Stakeholder Management:

- Build relationships with Head Masters and teachers through constant interaction

- Ensure that the team enables 2-way structured dialogue / meeting between school and Masoom to understand their issues and communicate how to resolve the same.

- Visit schools periodically to get a firsthand experience of program implementation

Key initiatives:

- Plan and roll out key initiatives to impact critical outcomes such as attendance, enrolment, pass percentage, etc. Engage and get into partnerships with others to ensure that these initiatives are designed and implemented.

Resource / People Management:

- Plan and roll out the recruitment of most suitable resources for the Program team

- Roll out the capacity building and training plan for the Program team to ensure that they are well-equipped to handle and deliver their responsibilities

- Track their performance and implement the performance management system for them

- Lead the Program team to ensure effective delivery of the Program

Funder / Donor Engagement:

- Interact / engage with funders / donors as and when required along with the COO and / or the Fund Raising Manager

- Leverage volunteer engagement as an opportunity to showcase Masoom and its program

Budgeting:

- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget from the program implementation perspective and its requirements

- Track the expenses vis-a-vis budget and report periodically

Reporting

- Oversee the timely delivery of MIS reports to different people in the organization

- Track the key M&E indicators; analyze the results and make recommendations to better them

- Prepare any specific reports for funders as and when required

Program Team

Maintenance and upkeep of equipment used in schools

Program related supplied and material to be used in schools

MSW, MBA or any equivalent degree

5 - 8 years in an organization in the field of Education
