Product Specialist - Fixed income Research

Your key Responsibilities

The Product Specialist is responsible for generation and maintenance of basic material on each of the fixed income funds, fixed income database/competitor analysis reports and supporting the production of other communication material. The role’s main responsibilities include:

Accurate collation, creation and timely distribution of presentations and reports using variety of media, including more specifically:

- Updating fund presentations with performance information for all products on a monthly basis

- Extract data on fixed income markets/ funds from various internal and external sources for slides

- Creating charts from the data and presenting it in understandable format

- Updating of adhoc performance requirements for institutional slides

- Uploading the updated presentation on sharepoint

- Produce market reviews and investment outlook pieces on fixed income

- Generate written analysis of Fixed income funds – portfolio performance, strategy, trading activity – for monthly, quarterly or semi annual/annual reports

- Ensure all standard content on Fidelity fixed income products (RFP/RFI database, sales presentations) is produced on time and to appropriate quality

- Address ad hoc queries on funds and markets

- Produce insightful commentaries and/or competitor analysis that can assist in retention and growth of assets

Your skills and experience

- Advanced Excel/VBA skills and ability to set up macros

- Ability to support in automation of data sourcing for various presentations/reports

- Strong numeracy skills

- Familiarity with databases like DataStream, Bloomberg

- Excellent software skills will be required, particularly advanced Powerpoint

- Excellent analytical and writing skills

- Basic understanding of fixed income markets and instruments

- Focus on delivery of high quality materials to specifications and to deadline

- Conscientious, able to work to a fixed deadline, reliable with flexible attitude and excellent time-keeping

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

- Strong team player

- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a number of stakeholders including in international locations

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of fixed income markets functioning and links between various macroeconomic indicators and their impact on fixed income instruments i.e. Government bonds, corporate bonds, high yield bonds and index linked bonds

- Advanced Excel skills ( particularly VBA important)

- Masters Degree – economics/finance/business (CFA would be advantageous)

- 3 - 7 years experience in fixed income research/analysis
