Product Owner - Transportation Firm

JiffyShip is a young company that is addressing one of the largest industries in dollar terms and by volume of transactions - International Shipping and Logistics. We are a start-up that is backed by an International Private Equity firm with a successful portfolio of investments in large profitable companies worldwide. We currently have an internal SaaS product live in multiple countries for one of the largest shipping companies globally and a freight marketplace product known as Freight Mango, which is both consumer and industry facing. This opening at Freight Mango is for a role that will help us scale and manage our product spread across both our business lines. The key highlights of this role are as follow.
 
Responsibilities :

- Manage product backlog and planning / roadmap documentation updates & prioritization

- Provide guidance and resolve confusion among the agile team members contributing in the product development cycle

- Liaison with the Product Head And/or external global teams to obtain requirements for product building and convert them into a readable document of product specifications for Technology and Design team

- Lead Product release planning and set expectations for new features / delivery and timelines

- Work with Technology and design to adhere to Product planning and delivery

- Manage product escalations, both internal and external - work with others in Product and Tech team to devise solutions and arrest problems from reoccurring

- Own and create (where needed) product guides, help docs, training material and product presentations

- Contribute in developing material for investor & sales presentations, demos and other external documentation communicating the product capabilities and features

- Manage tasks related to product operations that enable smooth functioning of the large-scale volume of transactions seen on the platform which may include - setting up email communication strategy & execution, database migration / update tasks, manual report or dashboard creation from database among others.

Requirements :

- A deep curiosity about new business models enabled by digital technology

- Willingness and perseverance to learn about one of the most complicated industries - International Freight & Logistics

- At least 3 of experience in a product owner/manager role

- Preferably has worked in a start-up and is good at problem-solving in a startup environment

- Should understand how technology works at a high level and be open to learning about digital tools that will aid and be necessary in day-to-day activities.
