Product Manager - Tech-Media Startup

NEWJ is a tech-media startup focused on curating and producing video content for the smartphone obsessed young Indians. The recent exponential growth of the video content market provides a huge opportunity for innovative visual storytelling in India. The company intends to fill this demand for quality content in the social and digital media space. The venture was founded by a team of young entrepreneurs led by Shalabh Upadhyay.

Jio's continued success has led to a meteoric rise in digital media consumption in India. The 4G revolution unleashed by Jio is changing user behaviour and data consumption habits, especially in emerging markets within the country - NEWJ intends to serve these upcoming young untapped markets. Jio's all India 4G penetration provides direct access to audiences consuming data, presenting a massive opportunity for seamless content curation and distribution through its platforms. NEWJ will harness this synergy with a data-driven and tech-focused approach in creating a distributed content model.

The NEWJ team consists of young professionals from design, technology, management and marketing backgrounds. Shalabh Upadhyay, a graduate of Columbia Journalism School, leads the team. He most recently was a senior video strategist at NowThis in New York, overseeing editorial growth and international markets. Shalabh also consulted for the Players' Tribune in optimising their data-insights and publishing efforts. Prior to this, he worked at a Canadian e-commerce startup based out of Toronto.

We are looking for :

1. Basic comprehensions of engineering principle and the component of a"tech stack".

2. Experience with extensive product discovery & user behavior research.

3. Past experience in software development.

4. Experience with product management with focus on software product and emerging technology

5. Analytic experience- drawing insights for multiple data source.

6. Experience in business strategy in a technology company or consulting firm analyzing data across global market

CTC : 20 - 25 lacs - to be offered.

Reporting to : CTO

Domain Exp : Media or Tech industry.

- Exp in product development & BI exp preferred.
