Product Manager/Chief Data Scientist - Big Data - eCommerce

- Define and lead the overall product vision, scope, requirements, usability of end user facing products built off of the Big Data Platform

- Prioritize and lead product feature development against priorities and other product platform opportunities.

- Help build a consistent Data Lake/ Master Data Management process and governance policy across the organization

- Identify opportunities for analytics with the data at hand by working closely with key stakeholders, customers and the data science team

- Write user stories and scenarios

- Collaborate with the Product Managers, Development Managers, and Quality Assurance to maintain the product backlog

- Make rapid tactical development decisions if they impact functionality or usability

- Participate in technical release planning

- Participate in Sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings and provide feedback

- Validate requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria with internal and external stakeholders

- Manage scope and define minimum viable product for assigned development concepts

- Help the team to estimate development time for each scenario

- Work closely with UI/UX teams to drive experience maps, concept storyboards, functional wireframes, and other user experiences

- Define, communicate and analyze success metrics for the big data platform

- Work with the Chief Architect to identify multiple potential solutions for complex or new problems or processes and makes objective recommendations as to which direction should be taken.

- Provide transparency and recommendations on project trade-offs and provides dependency coordination.

- Perform with a wide degree of latitude on creative solutions.

- Continually assess and integrate internal and external customer feedback and business metrics

- Stay on top of market trends to determine new or enhanced product capabilities that positively impact user experience.

Basic Qualifications

- 7 - 8 years of experience handling data and/or analytics, either as a Data Scientist or as a product manager working very closely with Data Scientist on big data, database management, and Enterprise software products

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the enterprise technology domain, such as Cloud technologies, open source, and analytics

- Hands-on Experience with Master Data Management, modeling, data science and governance.

- Analytical and process-oriented mindset
