Summary of role:

- The Middle Office (MO) seeks to provide first-class support service to its various internal clients with a particular focus on the relationship between trading risk positions and P&L components. The individual to work in the Rates & Currencies P&L / Product Control production area. The local team does p&l-related workflow supporting the trading business .

- The primary internal clients are Front Office (the business) and Middle Office partners, however there is also considerable interaction with Operations, Finance, Risk and MO Projects. The primary responsibility is to deliver accurate and timely p&ls and related control work.

- There is also heavy involvement with ensuring proper front-to-back tie out and agreement of mgmt P&L to the financial P&L (general ledger). In addition, there are constant opportunities to get involved with various projects impacting the workflow from the trading of new products to the set-up of new books & activities to the implementation of new market data (e.g. migration from LIBOR to OIS discounting) to strategic systems implementations.

Primary products covered will include: fx spot, fx forward, fx options, interest rate swaps, interest rate futures, currency futures and bonds.

Job description:

- Production and reporting of daily P&L for GRC desks to Front Office & Senior Management.

- P&L analytics / substantiation using risk based approach, following market trends and impact of trading strategies.

- Reconcile actual P&L with trader estimates and provide flash/actual variance analysis.

- Working closely with the trading desks on position, P&L or other issues on an ad-hoc basis.

- Front-to-Back analysis & reconciliations of front office p&l and balance sheet to firm sub ledgers,

- Assist with execution of month-end controls ensuring management vs. financial p&l variances are within thresholds

- Liaise with various business partners such as Technology, Market & Credit Risk, Ops & Finance to resolve issues.

- Development & continuous improvement of existing processes & workflow.

- Testing / UAT for systems work ranging from minor system releases to major system implementations.

- Remediation of issues in an autonomous yet timely manner considering the principles of control and the need to mitigate operational risk.
