PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Global Procurement Organization was established as a world-wide organization,leveraging the procurement power as a whole. The continuous improvement and maintenance of strategies, methods and tools to manage global procurement and supplier management effectively is one of the major goals. Extending and strengthen internal relationships and building win-win partnerships with preferred suppliers is essential for making the Global Procurement Organization powerful and effective. Driving cost savings in alignment with global targets and insuring effective risk and compliance management.

Global Procuremen is looking for an experienced, self-driven and a pro-active individual to join us in this exciting role in a global organization in order to manage the India country procurement team.

This person provides leadership for a group of procurement individuals to provide support to internal customers. Ability to manage and handle very complex and diverse scope and issues, work closely with senior level management in various LoBs. Capable to integrate procurement team into business strategies and plans, drive activities to meet the overall group objectives and strategies. Establishes and maintains good business linkage at the highest levels in the organization and address challenges effectively. Good problem solving skills and ability to make effective and sound decision. Leads implementation of procurement policy for assigned area of responsibility. Leads continuous improvement of strategies, methods and tools. This position is responsible to manage procurement in India, but also manage initiatives across the region, where issues such as: cultural differences, legal variances and integration with multiple internal teams will be key.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

- Lead a highly motivated team to drive and meet ongoing challenges

- Ensure compliance to the Global Procurement Policy and specific Guidelines; maintain all necessary documents to ensure transparency and audit compliance

- Actively manages and motivates the team to take proactive responsibility in managing their day- to-day tasks, but also taking care of their ongoing optimization initiatives and overall organizational change. Takes appropriate steps to ensure retention in critical phases and/or critical areas of GPO

- Good capacity for evaluating suppliers, sourcing, examine proposals, supplier management in accordance to best practices to support business requirements

- Identify and implement programs to meet saving goals and to enhance procurement related processes. Support and implement global and regional programs with consideration of local requirements. Manage in a timely manner the sourcing processes across selected SAP APJ entities

- Work closely with Lines of Business peers as well as Global Procurement Organization to meet the objectives. Manage the stakeholders

- Act as a role model and spokesperson for GPO India inside and outside the organization. Work closely with local management teams, global and regional purchasing organization to meet team objectives

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- University degree preferably in Business Administration, engineering or a related field. Advance degree in a related field or equivalent preferred.

- 5 years of supervisory experience in leading a team

- Experience in SAP MM / SRM system

- Experience in BW reporting

- Experience in Microsoft Office

- Strong supportive attitude will be ideal

- Ability to communicate with end users, stakeholders and work with colleagues in the region and global teams

WORK EXPERIENCE

- With at least 10 years experience in purchasing or supply chain operations in the following areas: develop and execute complex sourcing strategies for a commodity or region, high value RFX execution, manage complex and high value requirements including complex pricing negotiations and understand and negotiate complex legal contract terms and conditions.

- Knowledge in procuring 3rd Parties services in Consulting, Professional Services, Marketing and/or Facility Management Services will be an added advantage

- Must be proficient in English and local language

- Ability to understand business requirements and translate into purchasing requirements,

- Apply advance purchasing knowledge to execute sourcing projects

- Leads and provides expertise to purchasing project teams and participates in purchasing cross functional initiatives.

- Works on complex purchasing projects where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.

- Strong communication and presentation skill as well as interactive and social competencies.
