Private Equity Associate

A private equity arm of a bulge bracket Investment Banking Firm.

Job Title: Investment Associate

Location: Mumbai (Full Time)

Start Date: Immediate

Job Description:

- Contribute to all phases of the investment process including market research, deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, commercial and tax structuring, deal negotiations, documentation, investor reporting and portfolio company management.

- The candidate should thrive in a fast pace entrepreneurial environment and would be expected to be proficient in financial modeling and preparation of investment memorandums and fund pitch books.

Responsibilities:

- Financial modeling of prospective deals and existing portfolio projects

- Preparation of investment memorandums for the Investment Committee

- Work with asset managers on monitoring/analysis of progress of development projects against original underwriting

- Assist with commercial and tax structuring of new investments

- Assist with legal, financial and architect due diligence relating to new investments

- Assist with financing and disposition of transactions

- Research/analysis of micro-market supply/demand, infrastructure development, current prices and competing projects in the neighbourhood of prospective investments

- Annual valuation of fund portfolio and performance reporting to LPs/investors of the fund

The position will require high flexibility to travel across India.

Qualifications:

- Individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have consistently demonstrated excellence. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively, and ability to work in a team environment, often under pressure of tight deadlines.

Prior real estate knowledge not necessary, but is a plus. To qualify, candidates must possess:

- MBA from a top 10 business schools (IIMs, ISB, SPJain, NITIE, FMS, IMT-G, IIFT etc)

- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate investments or private equity

- Expert modeling and analytical capabilities

- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Unyielding desire to succeed in a team oriented and performance driven environment

- Demonstrated interest in real estate investing
