Principal/Project Lead - Governance & Development Consulting Firm

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our Client is a young consulting firm working on governance and development in India. They work with the government administration ecosystem at- multiple levels to create impact at scale in the lives of people.

The organisation combines a top-down management consulting approach with a unique bottom-up understanding of- the governance ecosystem. Their key differentiator is a deep understanding of government data, and the expertise in leveraging the data & technology to solve very complex and real governance issues. The engagements currently ongoing are with the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh & Kerala, with developmental objectives spanning Education, Digital Governance & Public Distribution.

Within four years of being founded, our Client has become the preferred partner for a number of state governments in India and currently works in close partnership with state-level leadership to solve a complex range of issues across sectors. They have grown quickly to a 30-member team with tenures at top-tier firms such as McKinsey, BCG, PWC, Google, A.T. Kearney etc. In terms of academic backgrounds, the team typically comprises of graduates from top-tier colleges including IITs, IIMs, SRCC, LSR etc.

THE POSITIONS ON OFFER

The PROJECT LEAD will have end-to-end responsibility for 1 assignment, & will report to a Partner/Principal.

The PARTNER/PRINCIPAL will manage 2-3 Project Leads & will have additional responsibility for client outreach and business development. The position will also be a key contributor to the firm's strategy and growth.

WHAT YOU- LL DO-

As a member of the core team, you- ll work on engagements that will reshape government, and society, and be the torchbearer of a new wave of social impact in India. You- ll collaborate on large-scale challenging projects with team members from many backgrounds and disciplines, increasing your understanding of complex governance problems from diverse perspectives and developing new skills and experience that will be valuable at every stage of your career, with our Client and beyond. You- ll work directly with clients, usually on site, and you- ll take ownership of creating sustainable change on the ground.

An very critical aspect of your contribution towards the organisation's vision to create impact at scale will be to build on the experience you gain from various assignments to develop thought leadership in the development & government space.

WHAT YOU NEED-

- 3-8 years professional experience in a demanding and complex role.

- Commitment to creating lasting social impact.

- Proven ability in straddling multiple roles that include project management, client relationship management, stakeholder management across levels of seniority, quality assurance, team building & mentorship, business development, brand visibility and thought leadership.

- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, at various levels of the governance ecosystem.

- Strong consulting skills
