Introduction: The organisation is a Corporate Social Responsibility arm of a leading infrastructure company with a mandate to develop social infrastructure and enhance the quality of life of communities around the locations of the Group's presence, focusing broadly on education, health, hygiene, sanitation, empowerment, livelihood, and community development. Today, the Foundation's activities and initiatives are spread across the country. This non-profit (Section 25) company has its own professional staff selected from top academic and social work institutions, is governed by a Board chaired by the Group Chairman. Reason for hire: The Group is looking to hire a Principal for the Institution as the current Principal is transitioning out of the organization for. This is therefore a replacement hire. The Principal will be responsible for the Statutory as well as Operational duties of the Institution. Roles &amp; Responsibilities: The Principal is the Head of the Institute of Technology both in terms of Statutory as well as Operational functions. The purpose of the role is to develop and implement the best practices of Academics and Research in the Institution to ensure a holistic development of the students and staff. The role is also accountable for the branding of the institution as the most preferred institution in the country. Following are the core responsibilities of the Principal- Admissions - Ensure the 100 % admissions in all branches of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Program under Convenor and Management Quota. - Ensure 50% seats of convenor quota are with less than 25000 rank in EAMCET. Academic Performance - Strengthening the Academic Delivery Mechanism to enhance Students- Performance. 75% of students to complete the program in GMRIT with 6.0 CGPA. - Ensure all curriculum and contents are uploaded on the LAN- 70% of the courses should be made available on LAN. Campus Recruitment - To ensure that Students undergo rigorous Training for enhancing their Employability Skills and facilitate quality placements. - To ensure 80% placements of all the Eligible students. - To Facilitate Summer Internship for 4th and full semester internship for 7th and 8th Semester students. - To create Value Adding MoUs with Industry and Institutes of repute in the form of Student Training, Academic Exchange Programs etc. Faculty Development :&nbsp; - To attract, develop and retain Qualified Faculty members. - Encourage M.Tech qualified Faculty to register for PhD within 2 years of experience with GMRIT. - Ensure 50% of faculty members are PhD qualified. - Organize at least one FDP per semester in each department. - Ensure effective student feedback mechanism and take necessary actions in the areas of development. - Develop an active Visiting Faculty network from Institutions of Excellence (like IITs, NITs and such) to come and lecture our students- 3 in each department. Research and Development :&nbsp; - Encourage Faculty members to publish in journals and conference (50% should be indexed in SCOUPUS /SCI). - Ensure all PhD qualified faculty members to submit Funded Research proposal in various funding agencies like DST/ UGC/ NRB/ BRNS etc. to the tune of 6-7 crores. - Create and utilize network to ensure release of Funded Research Project to the tune of Rs. 2 - 3 crores per year. - Establish Centers of Excellence in designated disciplines in liaison with the University and other premier Institutions. Students Development :&nbsp; - Encourage and ensure the students participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to acquire the requisite credits. - Minimum 15% students to participate in Paper Presentations, 30% in Tech Fests - Eight Professional Body and Eight Club Activity in each department per semester. Regulatory Issues :&nbsp; - To maintain the parameters of 6 years accreditation for NBA for all Branches - To ensure the adherence to UGC guidelines for Autonomous status. College Ranking and Institutional Development - Participate in 10 National level ranking surveys and ensure rankings of within 100. - Strive to take the Institute among the best private engineering college in the country with respect to the key parameters on which most good institutions are ranked high. - To organize at least two alumni meets per year and two alumni student interaction per semester. Overall Administration :&nbsp; - Coordinate the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan of GMRIT in consultation with Vice Principal and Departmental heads - Be the interface of GMRIT during the various reviews and Board Meetings. Stakeholder Management S/he will have to interact with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders to meet the accountabilities. The stakeholders would include- External Stakeholders :&nbsp; - Statutory Bodies- JNTUK Kakinada, AICTE, UGC, NBA, NAAC etc - Research Funding Agencies- DST, UGC, DRDO etc. - Governing Council Members, Local Administration - Parents Internal Stakeholders :&nbsp; - Group Holding Board, CEO, COO - Vice Principal, HODs - All Staff - All Students Must Haves: - B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D (in Engineering) from premier Institutions like IITs, NITs, all through First class. - 10 - 15 years of teaching experience in a reputed Engineering College followed by at least 5 - 7 years- experience as Principal of a reputed Engineering College. - Should have good record of Research and Development. e.g. must have got funded research project work 40 - 50 lakhs or above. - Must have published good amount of papers in Indexed Journals. - Strong exposure to Statutory Guidelines of AICTE, UGC, JNTUK. - Must have led Accreditations of Engineering Institutions for NAAC, NBA. - Well networked with the Corporate World for Industry Academia initiatives. - Good Track record of driving academic performance, admissions and campus placements. - Good Track record of hiring and retaining good quality faculty and staff. Highly desirable - Having Studied in Western Europe or North America will be desirable. - Teaching Experience in Western Europe or Northern America will be desirable.
