Principal Consultant (Banking) - Mumbai

This is a leadership role in Domain Competency Group within the Banking & Financial Services Practice of Tech Mahindra.

Job Profile

Practice building: Will be responsible for building and managing Banking Practice in India. Will be responsible for defining and implementing Banking GTM for India Banking business. This role will involve growing Banking revenues through domain led offerings. The Practice Lead will work in tandem with the Account teams to drive business growth. He/she will sell high end consulting engagements and participate actively in execution of these engagements.

Branding: Will position Tech M as a leading technology service provider in Banking space in India. Through his/her industry thought leadership, will position Tech M as a transformational partner and thereby drive Tech M's participation in the strategic programs of the client. The Practice Lead is expected to bring a lot of industry specific context and relationships that will strengthen Tech M's positioning with clients.

Solutions: The Practice Lead will leverage understanding of industry needs and identify relevant solution ideas, create business case and implement the solutions. As part of the P&L function, the Practice Lead is expected to focus on solution led revenues. Practice Lead will liaise with CXO's in client organization to understand their business problems and provide robust solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Work with / for clients to consult on the Banking business process lifecycle.

- Analyze the technology portfolio of the clients which fulfills the Banking business.

- Segregate the various technology artifacts within the portfolio to determine the suitability aspect with regard to the business

- Define technology changes required to accommodate the Business process re-engineering.

- Analyze Buy vs. Build options and recommend the most effective option to the client.

Profile Expectations:

Experience in broader Banking areas including Retail and Wholesale Banking

- Across channels - traditional (Branch Banking) and non-traditional such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, ATM, Kiosks, IVR, Social

- Experience in Commercial Lending, Transaction Banking, Wholesale Payments, Treasury, SWIFT

- Expertise in new channels and ability to spot trends in fast changing channel technology

- Experience in large Digital Banking transformation initiatives such as Multi Channel Optimization, Customer Experience, Online Banking refresh, Channel migration, payment transformation desirable

- Ability to understand emerging demands of customer centricity and develop solutions to meet that demand

- Experience in associated areas such as CRM, Customer Data, User Experience is desirable

- Combination of experience working in both Bank and technology firm is desirable

- Solution developments, Pre-sales support and business development experience in Retail / Wholesale Banking technology space is essential

- Experience across retail /wholesale banking products and on consulting engagements desirable

- Demonstrated thought leadership in Banking essential

- Over 15-20 years of professional experience in business and technology areas

- Global client engagement experience is crucial, preferably at CXO level

- Should have substantial practice development experience

- Preferably coming from mature organizations with client base across different geographies

- Preferably with top B-School /professional qualifications

- Industry certifications desirable

- Having spoken at industry events, conferences is a definite plus
