Pricing Actuary Role - Property & Casualty
Job Profile :
- We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join Property Treaty Costing Team.
- The role of the Pricing Actuary - Property Treaty Costing is to carry out a variety of technical tasks / projects for different desks within Americas region.
- You are expected to develop your expertise in costing/underwriting methodologies, costing tools, (re)insurance products and markets knowledge applied in each local underwriting desk.
- You will be contributing to the costing/underwriting capabilities, which are utilised in order to achieve our financial targets.
- You are a good team member who works with dedication, are eager to learn and possess strong social skills.
Main responsibility includes :
- You are an integral part of the Property Treaty Underwriting Hub Americas and work actively within a cross-functional team, particularly with various underwriting teams
- You assist individual property treaty account costing/underwriting
- You provide support to our annual evaluation and update of costing parameters across the region, which are used for our portfolio steering and treaty costing throughout the major renewal seasons.
- You take part in underwriting related activities including but not limited to portfolio monitoring, (re)insurance market research / study and other forms of internal projects.
- You participate actively in various regional / global projects
Qualifications :
- University degree or equivalent. Actuarial designation and/or aiming for completing the actuarial qualification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance and actuarial concepts of reserving and pricing.
- Excellent technical knowledge in Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Proficiency in Access and/or programming language is a plus.
- 5-8 years of relevant property/or liability actuarial experience in reinsurance and/or primary insurance desirable.
- Strong ability to learn technical knowledge quickly.
- Good knowledge in treaty reinsurance costing is a plus.
- Independent team member with strong ethics and ability to influence within a cross functional team. This implies the ability to explain actuarial views to non-actuarial people in an articulate manner.
- Comfortable in dealing with external clients.
- Excellent in oral and written English. Another regional language a plus.
- Able to travel in the region from time to time.
