President - API Global sales

- A mid sized pharma company to identify a senior professional to head their global sales & marketing function. They have multiple manufacturing units both in India & abroad and backed by a R&D team.

The Job :

- Top line responsibility for API sales across geographies (Matured and New)

- To focus on Regulated markets (generics, advanced intermediates and specialty intermediates)

- Take leadership in the annual business planning process that will include medium and long term sales forecasting as well as budgeting

- Derive and operationalize Sales Strategy for the Matured API's and New Products (API- s) and getting the same approved.

- Managing existing customer relationships effectively and scanning the market for new customer acquisitions including bundling of products & services

- Ensure that there is strong collaboration between sales and the technical teams and that there is clear understanding of customer expectations all round

- Build relationships and linkages with the regulatory agencies in the region and be visible in trade forums

- Networking with consultants / contact points with respect to various regulatory approvals / agencies

- Develop and maintain systems and controls ( MIS) pertaining to the function

Candidate Experience :

- Graduation.

- Minimum of 20-25 years of experience in API Sales preferably with exposure to contract manufacturing

- Should have worked as head of sales or at a second level in a Generic/API company

- Strong Generic/API Market knowledge

- Strong networking in the Generic /API industry

Skill & knowledge requirements :

- Business acumen with good techno commercial skills

- High degree of achievement orientation

- Strong on execution

- Excellent inter-personal and people management skills

- Excellent Communication & Presentation skills

- High degree of personal credibility & being value driven

Target Industries / Sector : Bulk Drug companies - Large / mid-sized
