Job Description :
This is a new position created to support the growing business needs as part of the organisation transformation initiatives. The person will work directly with the CMD while being primarily responsible for developing & implementing supply chain strategies including integrated demand planning, Inventory management, material planning, vendor management, Procurement, imports, logistics and projects related to supply chain.
- Reviews S&OP metrics, key performance indicators, identifying potential risks and business opportunities.
- Track impact of global mergers/consolidations/socio-political developments on supply chain
- Integrate supply chain practices with IT platforms
- Closely track Global/domestic regulatory changes/duties/ Govt policies likely to emerge and impact supply chain
- Collaborate with other Supply Chain functions including Product Managers, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, to optimise net landed costs, reduce inventories and improve service levels.
- Ensures close integration with procurement to reduce net landed costs, maximise cost savings, optimise inventory balances and meet service levels
- Forecast procurement costs on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis. Actively and effectively provide input costs for the annual budget process
- Develop and implement key procurement strategies which includes contingency plans, alternate sourcing avenues
- Create a business case for sourcing and implement the plan as required.
- Direct involvement with high value transactions, critical procurement's, long term strategic sourcing of 'A' class items.
- Drive strategic procurement initiatives with an objective to achieve cost optimisation
- Implement programs to optimise inventory turnover while mitigating inventory exposure and reducing risk for both the company and its Customers.
- Create and implement a supply chain strategy that is synchronised with business strategies and metrics.
- Build enough flexibility in the system to provide reliable shipments to improve On-Time in Full performance.
- Track capacity planning for the new product and De-bottleneck supplies issue.
- Develop and implement strategic priorities, annual plans, policies, business rules and metrics for the demand planning and inventory management to improve forecast accuracy
- Knowledge of global sourcing practices, monopoly markets and business dynamics coupled with strong understanding of Fertilisers/Industrial Chemicals /Raw Material Logistics operations is good to have.
- The incumbent must be familiar with advanced network and inventory optimisation methods.
- Knowledge of taxation, customs regulations and procedures is a must.
