Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, general ledger etc
- Review, analyse and approve the Journal entries prepared by the accountants in NetSuite. Ensure all entries have thorough and detailed data support.
- Review, analyse and approve the balance sheet account reconciliation prepared by the team. Follow up with internal team and vendor to resolve for any unreconciled variance.
- Perform a thorough review of expenses at G/L level and vendor level and ensure all expenses are correctly recorded.
- Review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Supervise and/or manage team of accountants.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationship.
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
- Ensuring that there is a backup process in place for all accounting and finance-related operations..
- Manage, own and act as a custodian for all transitions. Comprehensive project planning and reporting to executive team and transition leaders.
- Proactively identify, manage and document all risks and issues that may come during transition
- Ensure creation of standard hand-off documents which may include SOPs, escalation matrix, process maps, access management document, FAQ document etc.
Qualifications for Accounting Manager
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience in NetSuite is a must.
- Experience in managing transitions for Finance & Accounting functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
