Portfolio Specialist - Deal Support, Valuation &amp; Operations (DSVO) - global alternative investment firm COMPANY :&nbsp; The firm is a global alternative investment firm that employs a credit-oriented, value-based approach to investing across a broad array of geographies, segments and asset types, including real estate, corporate credit, mortgages, specialty finance and transportation. OPPORTUNITY :&nbsp; Work in a global, fast-paced environment providing substantial investment support for a variety of asset classes across the Asia Pacific region. The successful candidate will have direct contact with: - Investment, legal, tax and accounting professionals based in Singapore, Australia, India, U.K. and the U.S. - Legal counsel and tax advisors for the firm and Investment SPV's - Asset Managers located across Asia Pacific This is a multi-faceted position which combines traditional finance function with pre- and post-closing investment activities. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : The Deal Support and Valuations team play an important role in growing the firm's Asian investment portfolio. The team supports the firm's illiquid investing strategies, including real estate, private equity, credit platforms and private debt transactions through a combination of investment closing, investment management and valuation responsibilities. Investment Closing: - Co-ordinate investment closings including structuring, review of legal documentation, senior finance and treasury functions - Participate in financial, legal and tax due diligence for potential investments Investment Management : - Participate in regular portfolio reviews to assess portfolio and asset level performance - Monitor deal compliance including performance covenants, senior finance covenants, cash flow projections and financial reporting - Actively support disposition process at both portfolio and asset level - Perform audits on the Asset managers that partner with the firm Valuation : - Re-forecasts of investments to comply with quarterly US GAAP valuation requirements, as well as local statutory reporting for deal SPVs - Report to internal Valuation Committee and manage external verification procedures QUALIFICATIONS : - Accountancy qualification - Minimum 5 years post qualification experience with exposure to the financial services industry - relevant Big Four experience is welcome not mandatory - Exposure to deals in jurisdictions such as Australia, Indonesia and India is advantageous - Experience in valuations or with real-estate transactions PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES :&nbsp; - Experienced and confident communicator (both oral and written) with strong relationship skills - High standards; meets deadlines and qualitative and quantitative expectations - Inquisitive; always seeking to learn, and with strong problem solving skills - Pro-active and willing to take responsibility - Adaptable and decisive
