The post-holder will lead multifunctional teams across Global, Company's Technologies and business partners to develop and launch profitable products as part of the GS Portfolio Strategy, to create the most commercially successful portfolio of networked IT services. These portfolio developments will drive and support the business success of Company's Global in terms of market leadership, revenue and profit growth, cost reduction and customer experience.

The role of the post-holder has the following principle components:-

- Project management of the development and launch of new portfolio developments using the Company's operating model and C2M processes, across all phases: justify, define, develop, trial and launch.

- Good understanding of Portfolio Organizations and Global' s Business Areas requirements in day to day working with regard to investment proposals and portfolio development plans for the financial year in the relevant portfolio areas.

- Contribute to the creation of portfolio development roadmaps for specific portfolio areas with Capability Leads and cross functional teams. To include initial high level assessments of timescales and costs.

- Delivery of portfolio developments and launches to time, cost and quality as measured through the relevant agreed scorecard objectives and KPIs.

- Contribute within the business context of achievement of the relevant business benefits (revenue, profitability, cost saving, customer experience) as per the approved business cases and as reviewed at Post Investment Reviews

- Leadership, management and inspiration of the multifunctional virtual team in the context of direction setting and motivation of the team in the context of better, faster, cheaper portfolio development which drives competitiveness and growth and puts the customer first. Leadership also involves the proactive reflection of market unit and capability unit priorities into team direction.

What I'll be doing - your accountabilities Skills required for the job

Nature of the work :

- Providing a significant, proactive leadership role for the C2M community- and especially the Company's design/supply chain- in defined portfolio areas to gain understanding and buy in to the product direction and roadmap.

- Leading multifunctional virtual teams across the C2M community, to develop and launch new portfolio developments using the Company's operating model and C2M processes, to time, cost and quality.

- Delivery within the business context of achievement of the relevant business benefits (revenue, profitability, cost saving, customer experience) as per the approved business cases and as reviewed at Post Investment Reviews

- Continuous improvement of virtual team performance and stakeholder satisfaction in the context of better, faster, cheaper portfolio development which drives competitiveness and growth and puts the customer first.

- Leadership, management and inspiration of the multifunctional virtual team in the context of direction setting and motivation of the team.

- Proactive reflection of market unit and capability unit priorities into team direction.

- Recognized practitioner on the Operating Model and C2M methods and processes.

Key Decisions Made :

- Strategy, plan and implementation for Programme Management of portfolio development for defined GS Portfolio areas. How to develop what the product manager wants for the right money

- Strategy, plan and implementation for business improvement of C2M performance of targeted portfolio areas.

- C2M programmes management methods, processes, communication, training and implementation across virtual team for defined portfolio areas

- Decisions as management of PDM role, especially Go/ No-Go decisions for key milestones of critical developments and Escalation judgements.

Nature of Internal/External Interaction :

- Critical working relationships:

- Product lines (representing Customer Experience and Market need)

- Market unit designated portfolio development and launch leads especially marketing and sales management

- Contract account and delivery managers especially for early adopter customers of portfolio developments

- Commercial, legal and regulatory for product launches globally and in-country

- In Region and Vertical Market Unit product management

- Investment management unit for shaping of portfolio investments/ roadmaps and budget management

- Design community relationships (including SSD, OSS, , SDA, IP&D, VMM) - especially portfolio area design POD Lead

- Portfolio area Technical Integration leads

- Test community to assure quality post-launch

- Service units- DDSO and Technologies- Service delivery and assurance teams per portfolio area and region

- Management up to President level in key units as necessary for escalations to resolve issues constraining the development and launch of critical capabilities.

Change:

- Portfolio development - to improve competitiveness, to drive business growth, and to put customers first

- C2M/ OM improvements to improve effectiveness and efficiency and drive stakeholder satisfaction and organizational health

Skills required for the job

Key skills:

- Proficient in MS Office (MS Project, MS Excel), SharePoint

- Project and/or Programme management skills

- Financial Planning & Analysis

- Should possess leadership skills for ensuring robust governance of the programme

- A confident process consultant

- An overall awareness of the Product Portfolio including completion of the Global Portfolio Enablement Pathway

- Stakeholder Management: Positive relationships established and managed with key stakeholders to ensure successful business outcomes

- A good communicator who knows their audience and how to maximize impact with key messages

- Delivery: be positive, influence others to collaborate effectively, find solutions to achieve the objective. Think autonomously and voice concern at the right point to enable time for recovery

- Commercial Comprehension: Delivering profitable growth (i.e. balance delivery and benefits)

- Good administrative skills to create and update documentation to give near real time visibility of progress, risks and issues

- Development: owns a constantly evolving PDP to mirror evolution within the role and Company including on time completion of all Mandatory & Compliance Training.
