PNB MetLife - Credit Analyst

Context & Role:

The analyst will have the responsibility of providing in depth credit analysis of issuers and industries supporting the management of insurance general account investment assets. The analyst will actively monitor portfolio risks and exposures under the guidance of senior credit analyst.

Desired qualifications and experience:

- MBA from a reputed institute/ University or CA/ CFA

- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in reputable financial institutions, preferably in credit rating agencies, buy-side firms or insurance companies with experience in evaluating relative value

- A self-motivated individual with a high degree of analytical orientation, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail

- Strong teamwork-driven attitude and ability to work with senior colleagues across APAC region and at all levels of the organisation

Research Responsibilities:

- Work with senior analyst to assess new investment opportunities and present the opportunities to relevant committee

- Ongoing credit monitoring and timely publication of periodic and ad-hoc research notes to actively manage credit risks and portfolio exposures

- Conduct meetings with issuers and analysts to build in depth and broad knowledge of issuers and industries

- Portfolio risk-returns analysis for insurance general account funds.

Measures of Performance:

- Complete timely credit update publications on new and existing exposures

- Identification and execution of suitable credit opportunities

- Ability to effectively analyse the funds taking liability considerations into account .

Knowledge and skills required:

- Strong accounting and financial analysis skills and knowledge of/experience in financial models and quantitative analysis

- Analytical skills to evaluate credit ideas

- Sound knowledge of the fixed income markets, concepts and economic theory

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to make presentations to local as well as regional top management

- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

- Good working knowledge of insurance products
