Plant Head - Manufacturing

Basic Information of Role

Job Title: Plant Head Based at: Ankleshwar, Gujarat

Department:Manufacturing Department

Reports to:Manufacturing Director

Section One : Job Purpose

- Responsible for Production, Stores, IR, Administration, and compliances related to plant

- Liaison with Government authorities, enhancement of productions

Section Two : Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Capable of running the entire production activities comprising of

a) in-house manufacturing,

b) handling contracting activities 

c) managing outsourcing activities

- Handling the plant mainly consisting of Reactors, Dilutors & Mixers & other equipment's which are suitable for making resins, varnishes &compounds

- Handling of manpower (Permanent & Contractual)

- Scheduling of products in the various equipment's as per desired priorities

- Issue of RM's & filing of DPRs

- High level of Quality consciousness along with continuous interaction with QC Dept.

- Knowledge of 5 S & Six sigma will be an advantage

- Knowledge of running DCS & PLCs

- Drive & support the Continuous Improvement activities across the organisation

- Training and Coaching of Supervisors and Operators.

- Take part & ownership in the Yearly physical verification

- Take part in RCA's & brainstorming for customer & quality complaints

- Ensure running of plant at high OEE

- Take part in HAZOP & FMEA studies

- FaceCustomer Audits

- Ensure IMS requirements are met

- Monitoring of plant parameters for efficient and optimum operation of plant

- Review of all lab analysis and take preventative / corrective action to maintain product quality andenvironment norms.

- Be aware of all EHS matters related to the chemical plant and be conversant with thesafety work permit system.

- Execution/ monitoring of plant startups and shutdown

- Responsible for inward & outward materials, store activities, inventory controls.

- Coordination for new products & different formulations

- Maintaining healthy industrial relationship, Responsible for Wage agreements, disciplinary actions, compliances related to Labour laws

- Responsible for factory statutory compliances

- Responsible for Budget of Plant & its expenses

Section Four : Key accountabilities/ Performance Matrices

- Overall Responsible to meet production goals at desired quality levels as per the desired schedule

- Non compliances against factory act, Labour laws

- Maintaining healthy Industrial relationship

- Prepare & maintain the Plant budget
