Description - The purpose of the role is to hold complete responsibility for factory operations including Profit & Loss, revenue generation & profitability of the factory as per budget. The role incumbent will also oversee production operations with a view to ensure accomplishment of production targets within time & budgeted parameters.

A leading manufacturer of Agro Chemical based products. It has a vast presence in India and are continuously working towards strengthening its development of new products, improvement of existing ones, new technologies, processes and applications for indigenous and pan Asia-Pacific markets.

Description:

- Direct and coordinate the daily operations of the factory. Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers' expectations.

- Develop efficiency strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs. Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

- Be responsible for production output, product quality.

- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and

standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

PROCESS ENHANCEMENT:

- Work closely with quality personnel to ensure product quality.

- Monitor Wastages to determine areas of improvement and take remedial steps.

- Work directly with department heads to coordinate purchasing, production, distribution and other factory operations

- Institute policies and procedures, train supervisors and administrators, to ensure minimum deviations.

SAFETY:

- Responsible for upholding a safe work environment

- Ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for employees

- Adherence to safety standards and ensure compliance to environment and Safety Management system.

STATUTORY COMPLIANCE:

- Timely and accurately compliance of all applicable statutory compliances.

- Regular review of latest amendments under acts and compliance guidelines Monitor monthly deviations from the plan and take appropriate corrective /preventive actions to meet annual targets towards realization of unit scorecard

- Deliver bottom-line impact by reducing year on year cost of operations

- Ensure preparation of MIS at regular intervals and draw insights to improve quality of decisions

PEOPLE -RECRUITMENT, RETENTION & CAPABILITY BUILDING:

- Ensure availability of the right talent within the department

- Ensure retention of key talent within the department and hire in case of any vacancies

- Review and monitor performance of subordinates on an ongoing basis and provide requisite developmental support/ inputs

- Chart out a clear talent development plan; identify and groom team members for higher responsibilities

- Recommend training as required for subordinate development. Develop the team and update their knowledge base to cater the organization need

- Address employees' issues or grievances.

- Maintain Harmony inside and outside the plant.

Profile:

- Be a chemical engineer with minimum 15 years of experience with a key focus on production, quality, safety, and supply chain in a manufacturing industry.

- Be systems savvy and have had experience in optimizing performance through lean manufacturing, six sigma, Kaizen methods and current best practices.

- Have considerable knowledge of financial, analytical, and P&L skills besides ability to work in multi-functional teams.

- Have the ability to develop & execute business continuity/strategic plans to provide direction toward the achievement of financial targets.

- Have a strong 'hands-on' people management, interpersonal skills, stakeholder management, team building, leadership, and coaching skills.
